If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Telluride VIN Lookup Website

@DruKe Noticed that all the VIN for 6/17/2020 are all "S" trim. Seems odd to me. What say you?

I thought it was weird as well. They are all valid. Best I can think is that they are clearing out the 'S' model trim back log. The scraper looks for VIN numbers, doesn't care what trim, color or any options they have. Kia just created a crap ton of 'S' models recently!

I believe the thinking is that the last push of 2020s are the LX and S trims. For whatever reason. I believe I saw someone post that on here a few days ago.

Yes it's weird. I was about to call the auditors to check your procedures. ;)

Jason Fox posted that a bunch of S models were going to be made to close out 2020 production. So, the model year changeover should happen sometime soon.

Well I didn't see my SX get made yet. Sort of a bummer but I'd be ok with a 2021.

It makes sense to stock up on some S models rather than EX and SX. EX has the biggest changes between model years and SX models have a backlog of sold orders to last for months...most of which seem to be moved to 2021 model years. If they have stopped building SX models...I would say that the 2021 production should kick off any day. As far as factory production - based on the VIN lookup tool - they are back to pre-covid levels. Looking good!

I’m sure most people are aware on this forum, but just keep in mind they have their annual shutdown coming up in a few weeks, so don’t freak out if you see the VIN tool not updating for that week!

I'm new here and don't know what the annual shutdown is! Is it so they can convert the production line to the new MY?

I believe they shutdown yearly to retool for the next model year. Typically it sounds like it’s a two week shutdown, but from what I’ve seen, it looks like they’ll only shut down for one week in the beginning of July since they had already shutdown in April.

KIA keeps on pumping out those 2020 "S" trim levels. Guess the dealers can stick their markups on those as well.:cautious:

I noticed that there are lots of gaps in the VIN numbers showing up on the tool. Then someone in the facebook group posted a window sticker of one of the first 2021 VINs, which ended in 94937, but that number is skipped on the tool. Wonder if all the missing VINs are 2021 models just not showing up for some reason?

@DruKe -- The VIN scraper program is only searching for VINs with the 10th digit of L (2020 Model Year vehicles). Seems it would need to be updated to search for VINs with the 10th digit of M (2021 Model Year). I am no programmer by any stretch, but @foresterh logic/code link shows it is only searching for 2020 -- jamie-houston/vin-lookup

Yes - seeing data on 2021's already having issued VIN#'s. That means 2021 production is happening now. Need to get the tool updated - if possible.

Will you be able to modify the tool so it will pull 2021? Thanks for what you do for us.

anyone knows if the website is not working anymore or kia stopped their production to get ready for 2021? No new vins since friday

So if i wanted to look at all SX AWD's with Dune interior, Premium, Tow, and nightfall, and then see the breakout by color. Is that not an option?

Seems like I would need a P/T/N selection under 'Options'
