If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Order to delivery time

I ordered a Telluride SX prestige from a smaller dealership. I ordered it a little over 5 months ago. The dealer keeps delaying the delivery date and now I am being told it may be August or September. I am beginning to wonder if larger dealerships are given preference by KIA over smaller ones. Has anyone experienced shorter wait times from large dealers?
I also ordered from a small dealership on 2/14. I don’t think preference has to do with it, but I knew that 1. I was literally the only order they had placed and 2. They get about 6 a month so my dealer was able to estimate based on that. If it’s delayed it’s probably due to other orders being filled before yours and now being switched to a 2021

Somewhere on the Forum there was a link to a window sticker for a 2021 with the Nightfall Edition option. Question to one of you Dealers, How could this happen if Kia has not opened ordering for the 2021 model year?

Hey. I'm new to the forum (apparently i should have found it sooner):

Put a deposit on a SX-P, gravity grey/black, back in early February. Dealer told me that the order was "picked up" by Kia on 3/15. First posted ETA was 5/15. Of course, then the pandemic messed everything up. Between the factory shut downs for COVID and subsequent "supply chain issues" the ETAs I have been told have been: 7/6 --> 6/28 --> most recently switched to MY 2021 with an ETA 7/23. They did send me a VIN to go along with this, so I guess thats progress?

Trying to skim through this chain (now at 248 pages) it seems like people are optimistic that the most recent ETAs are for real. Is there actually reason to believe the most recent ETAs (as opposed to all the earlier ones that have been missed for me and so many others) or is it just that people who are waiting so long have to try to remain optimistic?

Pre-allocated.. Corp Kia makes decision
Interesting. Daytona Kia is not even a large volume dealer. Kia marketing has a purpose I suppose. Or maybe somebody knows somebody.

If you have a Vin number the longest part of the wait is over. Now just a matter of final inspection and being shipped to dealer

Hey @StephenCantrelle .....I have a question for you...

For the MY21 Tellurides we are now seeing on fail cat......are those Kia Corp. built cars......basically like in new home sales it would be considered a "spec house" but in this case a spec car. And the custom order people like myself and others here, is it true that we wont be on there just yet because there is no dealers who have been able to input into KFOS yet. And what about the MY20 peeps who were informed they are now a MY21. Are any of those MY21's on the fail cat?

:-)

I called my dealer today - and was told my 2020, ordered December 2019, was pushed to a 2021 MY.

I got a Build #, but no VIN yet. ETA Aug 17th 2020

I was kinda late to the game compared to some (most) of you. I put a deposit down on a gravity grey SX just after Memorial Day. It was a dealer allocated car with an eta of 6/19. I though a month seemed long. Then I found this place and thought, “uh oh...what did I get myself into”
Anyway, they did the model year switchover and the dealer called last Monday letting me know that half of their original allocated units were showing for them now with a new eta of 7/20. Of course, mine wasn’t in that half. They offered me one of that group in a silver, but I opted to just hold tight. I hope I made the right decision, because as of now, there’s no ETA on my car.

Also, when I explain all this to people, they look at me like Im crazy

At this point in the game....my wife thinks i am crazy for chasing down a vehicle like i have since Nov 25, 2019. She does not get this at all. She is like, "It's a KIA for heaven's sake". So i told her i will just get the new Cayenne Turbo and then she backs off...haha......It's like big game hunting ....I just want the thrill of the kill. Once i bag this Telluride , hopefully my excitement doesnt wane quickly like it does with everything else i hyperfocus about in my life! 🙃

But in all seriousness, it is pretty strange for an outsider (my wife) listen to me talk to the freakin dealership GM, talk to KIA consumer affairs, write on message boards like this, and just talk about this to anyone who will listen to my plight. It's downright silly that it has to come to this.

Fight the good fight!

lucky21, this "white whale" quest is viewed similarly in my house. My wife tried to soothe me recently by saying, "well, my friend just got a Highlander, and she likes it. Let's just get one of those."

I'm 40+ hours deep in this thing. No quit now!

Pictures of newly delivered vehicles always helps with the hope!! Lol I just feel bad for the buyers who get stiffed by dishonest dealers after months of waiting. Its terrible. Enjoy your new ride
Picking her up tonight, but here are some sneak peaks my dealer sent me!

We ordered our SX-P w/tow December 7, 2019. We were notified by the dealer today that we are the first in line at their dealership for a 2021 SX allocation. Originally we were hoping for 6 months, now we are just hoping for the end of the year! 😬

If you are first in line for an allocation - then you should finally get an ETA between 7/10 and 7/15 out of KFOS. Then add 45-60 days after that for delivery. I too am first in line at my dealership for an SXP allocation. I ordered in January so our orders should be produced around the same time this summer. Almost there!
