In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The KIA Telluride in Black Copper

Most definitely thank you for the tip. We’re going to have to do that before putting in our order.
it’s certainly a different color, but I’m hoping the copper IS enough to make it stand out

All I can say if you order Black Copper the wait is longer from order to delivery. White and black is the shortest wait. Also SXP adds time to the wait.

we aren’t in a hurry. I’m not going to order a color we don’t want just because it’s the shortest wait. Plus, we’re looking at the EX in this color, and since it’ll be the first time for that trim, I expect the factory to have a dedicated window of when they push out this color once they truly ramp up ‘21s

Look at this post from last year. I hope your can open it. If you look in the bottom right corner where the owner has circled in green, you will see a tiny spot of what I feel is a true representation of this color. To me that is a "rootbeer" color. I've seen many pictures of this car indoors at car shows and the indoor lighting does give it more of a plum/purple look. To me the outside Sunshine color is different.

yes! I have seen this photo. Went ahead and attached it in this post. These are copied photos from this same thread.

The first two seem like they’re from a show or on a floor. To me, the photos give off a plum hue, which isn’t bad, it’s just my perception. I assume it’s just the florescent lighting overhead playing tricks on the metal flake.

The next two, I think, are you’re referring to. Sure does look root beer, and I think this is the perfect term for it.

the car isn’t going to be on a showroom floor, so I’m betting on the color being closer to this.

argh! Want to see in person!
Thanks for the th

Guys I had a chance to see it in person before I placed the order. However I placed the order on Dune Brown without seeing it. On both Inside and Outside color I could not be happier. I know color is a personal choice but I have to say Black Copper color is special.

So happy to hear it, that is my combination when it comes!

Black Copper is truly a unique color, my wife likes it quite a bit as do I. When parked next to a pure black (ebony black or similar) you can see the difference, it really looks that much better than piano black. But to me it's still just black 99% of the time. I wish they had made the copper flakes larger or something that made it more copper'ish a majority of the time. That root beer color you get in direct sunlight after a wash would be ideal if it shined like that all the time IMO

This!
it being black 90% of the time isn’t bad, but just wish there The flake and the root beer cake through a little more.
question;
When it’s ‘black’ does it loook like that ebony piano black or can you tell / notice the metallic flake?

You can't really see the metallic flake/sparkle or the change in hue, but you can tell something "is different" and it's not a raw black. Others may feel different but we live in Florida and the sun is always out.

thanks! I think the fact that the color is different makes all the ...difference.

just didn’t want a piano black. Honestly, I don’t know why manufacturers stopped adding a metallic black to their lineups.

I see, Rub in the fact that you’re living the good live in the land of sun and palm trees.

Honestly I think it is the best color Kia offered for 2020. There is a reason they only kept it for top of the line SX trim. I feel. On a dark day it will look black but next to a black car you will see the difference I have a black car will send you a picture to show the side by side comparison. Attached some old pictures when I was hunting them at dealers to get an idea how it looks. First picture is ebony black second is copper black and so is last one however in the last one see my black car in the background.

I'm in Jax. Was going to say you could take a look at ours but that's not a quick drive

Thanks for the offer. Not a quick drive as you said. I’ve reverted to calling dealers and asking when their sold allocations are coming in so I can come by and look.

Had a chance to see the color in person on an S at a dealer today.

Pictures don’t accurately reflect the color as others have said. Yes, it does look ‘black’ when not in sun or washed, but you can tell that there’s something different. It has a metallic flake to it. My wife sees some brown / copper hues. I see some purple hues.
I call it Burple - brown and purple, but more purple than brown (hence more of the word purple).
I agree that root beer is the best comparison to the real color
