Order to delivery time

I did complain about a dealership asking for market adjustment and even told Kia corporate all dealers in my area are doing this. They pretty much said they are independently operated. I said, it is a shame you can't do more and left it at that. I have only paid MSRP once on an Infiniti and I regretted it since I am way under water based on it's current market value. I just can't bring myself to even pay MSRP on any car so I will wait and wait and wait or go with a different car next April.

It's called supply and demand, and it's called free-market capitalism. Luckily, we live in a country where we are all free to choose. We can choose to buy something, or choose not buy something. We can choose to buy from one dealer, or buy from another dealer. I applaud Kia for not regulating or forcing dealers to keep prices artificially low. If the market supports higher prices, so be it! Let free markets decide the true price! If the Telluride were a complete flop, the dealers would be forced to sell below MSRP, since their supply would be too high. Works both ways, and it's a beautiful thing! It's why the United States is the most wealthy, most prosperous, and most powerful country in the history of the world. Sorry to hear about the Infiniti. Looking back, I'm sure you wish you chose differently. Been there, done that myself...

I ordered my SX prestige the second week in November, was quoted end of February/early March....I JUST got a VIN number last week and I am scheduled to pick up Friday. I am TRYING not to get my hopes up because we have been put off SO MANY times. Of course they blame all of it on the COVID 19 factory shut down which I am sure had something to do with it, but had they delivered in Feb/March as promised, we would've missed all of that.
Wish you the best.....enjoy

I agree with lonzwinery completely. Not only that, no matter how you purchase a new or used vehicle (e.g. cash or finance), you will always be under water. You do realize that vehicles are a depreciating asset yes?

Found an SXP in Mass but it's 5k+ MSRP...

It's Boss Moss with Dune...if it was MSRP I would have grabbed it...

Which dealer in MA? My first guess would be Dan O'Brien Kia. There are many dealers in MA selling at MSRP and taking orders but the waiting lists are deep. Like many areas in the country, there are a couple dealers that still insist on holding inventory and trying to sell to the highest bidder. We have a Moss/Dune SXP on order at MSRP but we don't expect to see it until late this year, at best.

Commonwealth Kia

Wondering if people can start posting when they ordered and when they received their Kia (or at least the vin).

I ordered an sx prestige with tow on March 13. Nothing yet.

Many of the threads here have gotten hare to follow woth with the side conversations, it would be helpful to just keep this to dates for people’s reference.
I ordered mine on 13 Mar 2020 as well. I was told it would arrive 10 weeks from that date. Nothing yet. I was told that the plant in Atlanta had to close down for a while because of COVID 19. They are now telling me it will arrive some time in August, but it will be a 2021 instead of a 2020.

@StephenCantrelle I called a dealer here in Michigan(the biggest dealer) they said they’re taking orders and if I place an order today it should take 30 to 60 days to get the car! What do you think, would bigger dealers have their own way to place orders ahead of others or are they just bluffing me?

Need more information:

- what trim?
- Is it a true order or an allocation for one they already have in the queue?

Not allocated, didn’t give them all info yet. Just said it’s an sx. They got 57 tellurides, apparently that’s the most in Michigan.

Just sounds like they've got a bunch unsold and allocated coming to their dealership. You can tell this if they will allow you to order any accessory you want and when the vehicle comes in the window sticker will match EXACTLY to your ordered options. If not it was allocated prior. Not a bad thing as dealers swap accessories all the time for you at time of delivery. And you don't have to wait!!! GL

I wouldn't mind an unsold one but they don’t have any coming that matches what I want. White with dune brown.

Can you tell us the dealer number so I can check the VIN lookup tool to see if they might have my color combo? :) Thanks!

Ordered SX P/T on Jan4 and picked up on June30. Added dealer side steps installed before pick up. Fit fine with factory mud guards
Long wait but worth it. Thank you to those on this forum for the information as it armed me for the dealer bs at time of final purchase. And they tried to play games on final purchase price above what we agreed in Jan telling us we owed extra 2500 for down payment when we did not finance it. And they calculated the tax wrong. Crazy.

Congratulations. Would you be able to post pictures of your car? I am particularly interested in how the side steps look as I am debating getting those as well. Plus would be nice to see the rest of the car as well. Enjoy your new ride!

Same. I’m sold on the side steps now. Love the look and appreciate some of the kind folks on here answering some of my questions about them. I’d say go for it if you’re getting a good price. I’ve managed to get my dealer to waive any installation fees so I think it’s about $695 total.
