PIO is Port Installed Options I believe. I have the following codes: CF, GSJ, SPL, TOF, TWJ. I also have option code 025.

CF = Carpeted Floor Mats
GSJ = ??
SPL = Illuminated Scuff Plates
TOF = ??
TWJ = Tow package

If you just ordered it and it has an ETA next week - this must have been one they had as part of the push to close the 2020 model year. It is most likely a dealer allocation and not a custom order. But congrats! KIA produced a ton of S models as they closed out the year - so there will be lots of them hitting dealer lots in the coming weeks. Make sure to post pictures once you take delivery. What color did you get?

I spoke with the dealer on 4/15 and only got the SX. I didn't have to wait as long as most on here

I don't get it, my dealer, Muncie sats they can't take orders. I am trying to order an SX AWD with tow, and for about the last 10 days, I'm told the order bank is not open. I'm trying to figure this out, is the order bank open for some dealers, but not others?

I had the same issue with a few dealerships for about a week. They were under the impression that I wanted an SX non-nightfall since I was only asking if the SX trim was open for ordering. I had to specify that I want the nightfall edition.. Since apparently that's the only way Kia is manufacturing the SX trim right now.. Try calling back and telling them that?

When ordering opens, it opens for everyone. It doesnt have to be nightfall to order. It looks like you weren’t first in line. There are some people ahead of you. I’m not sure how many orders they were able to submit last week or if the number of orders depends on how big the dealer is, but dealers were definitely able to put orders in last week for SX.

Oh, my fault, I didn't see that you ordered the nightfall option. I think they ARE taking orders for that edition. We just want the SX, no P or NE

Allocations are by month - and I think this is the main issue with good salespeople differentiating themselves from the not so great ones.

I said it before salespeople need to get better at delivering bad news.

If prospective buyer wants to put an order through, instead of just leaning on hey ordering bank is closed dig deeper and say look - I have X number of people in front of you for that trim...with a very educated guess of "wait time / 3, 4, 5, 6 months". Then let that buyer decide if they want to get in your line or not.

That’s nothing you’ll see way more things before you get your car. My dealer kept telling me kia pant is still closed while it was open. They tried giving me a ghost car saying that’s what kia sent them instead of my order. At the end I was told my order wasn’t submitted(after 6 months). Just to find out last week that my order was actually submitted with an eta! Some dealers will try to give you simple reasons instead of explaining the whole situation and getting you frustrated while their intention is still good. It depends on each dealer and how they handle things. To me any thing other than the truth is frustrating.

honestly I think some salespeople are BS-ing out of their you know what.
Some are incompetent
Some lean heavily on their Sales Managers/GMs - who from my POV in this journey are responsible for playing most of the "games" with this entire process...
Last but not least - some are AWESOME. They have a close relationship with the GM who puts orders through KFOS and are on top of where the numbers stand at their respective dealerships for allocations.

Check failcat - KIA is manufacturing SX with the Prestige and standard SX. They aren't manufacturing just the Nightfall Edition.
