• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... I purchased the rear Telluride Letters from a Kia Dealership however the template comes in 2 pieces. When installed on the car does anybody know the exact distance between the U and R?

The letters are not equidistant apart which is making alignment difficult for these back 2 pieces.

Otherwise I am going to have to find a random Telluride in a parking lot and jump out and measure quickly . Not creepy at all! Haha

Any help would be great!

Thank you

I measured 2-5/16” between the U and R on mine.

How did you get the lettering off?

Just curious, why did you take the lettering off? FWIW, we were thinking of pasti-dipping the letters and emblems copper for our black copper SXP but don't need to remove them to do that.

The plan was to install the black letter kit sold on this site . However the shop I had install it completely messed it up by not removing the sticky tape left on the body by the previous letters. Unbelievable stupid move from a company that was also doing PPF and Ceramic. Do no go to Austin Detailing . They are terrible....

So I ended up buying an additional factory letter kit from Kia . Installing it. Then using Hypderdip shadow black . It turned out great but was quite a process that could have been avoided by using Hyperdip in the first place .

How did you get the lettering off?

Park you car in the sun for a couple hours to heat up the adhesive the use some fine fishing line and thread it between then letters and body. Use Goo Gone after that to remove the adhesive .

It looks naked without the letters to me and thus why I put the black ones on.

Black letters look great. Did you do the front too? How many coats did you do and how long in between before you peeled the excess?

I did the front too.

I think about 8-10 coats.

5-10 minutes in between each.

Peeled 1 hour after final coat .

Did you use the Glossifier after?

No Hyperdip is incompatible with Glossifier.

Hyperdip is the newest version of Plastidip which is supposedly thinner and goes on with a smoother texture . I had never used the original Plastidip but I think this is great for Emblems.

The color is called shadow black. It isn’t quite gloss but it is a deep black. It definitely isn’t flat or matte.

Thanks!
