Hello !

As the username says, I've been lurking without posting for a while but finally had a serious discussion with the SO and surprised to find out she's on board with getting into a new Telly in the coming year! With 2 girls under 3 yrs and a 65 lb. doggo in the mix, my VW hatchback just isn't going to cut it anymore since we plan to take a lot of road trips as the girls get older.

Still need to save up for a bit but hoping to put in an order for a white/dune SX-P/T before the end of the year. Hoping @jasonfox can help me out as im not in any rush and just want to get the best deal.

Can't wait to actually have something to talk about with this awesome community! Please be kind to me

That is a popular color. You might actually find one on a dealer lot for a good deal by next spring. Might not need to order one.

Do you think production will catch up to demand that soon? I'm not in any hurry but ideally looking to purchase early next summer and don't want to be scrambling if nothing comes through and demand is still through the roof. Also, even if something became available sooner than my order ETA i would just honor my original order schedule since it's more in line with my financial time-line.

I'm fortunate to be able to wait for the exact specs I want and I've no intention of paying any sort of market adjustment I keep hearing about. I've also got an uncle in Indiana so thought I'd just make a trip out of it when the time comes. Thanks, and I'm in Carrollton btw, howdy neighbor!

Anybody's guess. A good sign will be after KIA launches the Sorento this fall. If they can keep up with demand for the new Sorento while clearing the backlog on Telluride units - then more than likely headed into next spring - dealers will have inventory and market adjustments will finally subside. If they can't keep up with Sorento demand while clearing the backlog - then ordering one will be your best bet. Just make sure wherever you order from has a refundable deposit policy.

If I were you I would find a way to work with @StephenCantrelle as he is one of the best there is and you live in the same city. Thankfully I got in on an order when his dealership was still taking orders at MSRP. They have mark ups now - but once dealer inventory builds - those will fade.

Now I'm conflicted between the Dune interior and the Grey... My wife doesn't like the Dune but she says its going to be my car so get whatever I like. I love how the brown seats look but wish there was the lighter headliner available with it. I would be okay with the Gray but I also have two kids under 3 and a large dog. Any thoughts?

If it were me, and I was getting white, I'd go with dune, butterscotch, or black. But this is coming from a guy who doesn't like white exteriors or interiors.

We have a white SXP with the grey interior and love it. Had it since May. Of course the kids are out of the house which made the decision easy. Good luck.

My company was deemed essential at the very beginning of COVID so I havent really had time...i sat in a black interior several months ago but not interested in the black, being in TX and all.

Honestly I'm not even sure why I like the Dune except that brown interiors used to be kinda rare...i know it suits my eye now but I'm a bit afraid of how it will age. I know the grey is something ill be perfectly fine with but spending near $50k is a big decision (for me and my family at least) so I want to make sure I absolutely love whatever we get.
