Order to delivery time

Looks like my VIN just popped on Failcat today - and @StephenCantrelle confirmed the ETA matches what the dealer said. Super stoked, since we have been waiting since December 2019 to get this car.

@Jadyas Did your VIN show up on Failcat recently as well?

Oct 7 ETA moved to Nov 4th ☹️

No!! Mine isn’t there yet!! Well congrats! What’s the eta showing now? I was hoping to see mine today! Fingers crossed, hopefully tomorrow or the day after by far.

Tellurides that are at this moment assigned to dealers have ETA's in October.. So if you need one by then I would say finding one that is already assigned to a dealer.. Ordering one varies dealer to dealer but 6-8 months is the norm

October.....I think I’ll throw up. I have an order at Muncie from 11/19 and last I knew I was 12th on the waiting list. No doubt in my mind that my wait is going to be in excess of a year.

I need a drink.

It seems like Kia has ramped up production the nightfall editions. I just left a very popular dealership located near Los Angeles and there were 8 Tellurides available. 6 of them had the NE package. They actually had the exact trim i ordered out of state last month, but with a 10k markup. Here it is.

Yes - they have. I did some analysis today and while their production numbers are high overall - all of the increase and then some has gone to Nightfall production. SXP production is lower per month today than it was back in February. Helped me understand why my ETA keeps getting pushed out. KIA is sacrificing customer satisfaction on sold orders to ramp up dealer inventory of the Nightfall edition models. Really, really, really frustrating.

2020 through the most recent completed month:

Six NEs sitting with a $10k markup...that's a pity. Someone will pay it, but it won't be me.

I really don't understand it - Kia flooded the market with the's NEs. I'm still not a fan. I'll admit though, I've never been a fan of white either, but the white (GWP, whatever) and NE is on fire. That is one gorgeous combo.

@MarcinTexas , that's one insane curve. It's crazy to see the MY 2020 production statistics by trim pre COVID and then see what they look like now with the addition of NE to the mix. I wonder, excluding NE, if the trends were comparable about this time last year, discounting the overall increased production valued for the year, i.e. trim to trim ratios between MY20 and MY21.

Unfortunately the data behind failcat doesn't go back into last year - or I would have done a comparison. I was wondering the same thing.

And yes...KIA flooded the market with the NE and also with all the S allocations last month. Not building for sold orders...just building to get inventory on the lots. Meanwhile...we keep waiting.

First off, this thread is fantastic. Glad I found it. I ordered my Telluride on 4/2/20. Gravity gray EX AWD. I have had zero communication with dealer - I had to call to get proof of order for my prior Sorento lease & they informed me I had been switched to 2021. I’m assuming my order hasn’t been entered into KFOS yet... I’m going to call tomorrow and ask what # I am in the queue, etc. Q for you all- did anyone decide to go with a different dealer for their order. I live in ND, so small dealership, but could look at going with one near Minneapolis, MN & probably have better luck in terms of 1. Communication + 2. Dealer allocation. I’m open to discussing different models, etc... but never knew this had an impact until reading through this thread. Thoughts?

I would look elsewhere asap. Find a reputable dealer possibly out of state and put down a refundable deposit. You could still get it by Christmas if things continue to strive and no covid shutdown. . My 2cents. Yes this forum and the members here are great. Totally agree. Good luck!

My ETA went from 10/22 to 10/20...guessing I'm too far out to see any noticeable swings yet.

Saw 3 Tellys sitting at my local dealers lot unaccounted for - maybe people are finally done dealing with the mark-ups, etc...

I got a VIN i got a VIN 🤣🤣🤣

You almost there! I am sure you feel relieved and excited to see the VIN.

You are already four months in. Do you want to throw in the towel just because they aren’t communicating enough with you? This is par for the course, and a bigger dealer doesn’t mean better communication. Why don’t you go down there and talk to them in person?
Or better yet just go Mitch Weiland’s dealership in MN and pick up one of his available Trides for MSRP.

@akdoh Stephen checked on my ETA he said it’s 9/07

Are you going through Bill Barth or GF Kia? They don't get many allocations, you'd probably be better off finding another dealer.
