Floormats for Telluride - good options?

i got the smart liners and they are perfect. Got them for my EX. with bench seat in 2nd row, 3rd row and trunk for like 275. If you order through their website theres several ways to save an extra 10%. I think very good bang for the buck. Lipped edge, perfect fit.

This is what I'm looking at also. Thank you for this.

No problem. I did a good amount of research and pricing this out. I think a lot of the cost depends on the name brand. I gave smartliner a shot bc they were much cheaper, and who is reading the label on a floor mat, and who cares. They come in and out great. Fit great. i do recommend, as do they, to let the mats sit in the sun for 20 mins after you get them. then relift the edges. they are packed well so the sun loosens the rubber. The are great in my truck so far. just gotta figure how to sell my floor mats!

@nickeltek - also good data. I'll remember that. What floor mats are you trying to sell? Did you try another brand that you didn't like?

I've been discussing my opinions and thought process in this thread.

I have Tux Mat now and love them. When I order my next set for the Telly I will not be putting the pin through the carpet. I don’t have that feature now on the set I bought in 2017. And the Mats stay in place just fine. I’ll try it first without it. I also have no problems with my current set not using the OEM mat hooks that are in my Sportage. I just actually took my TuxMat out of the car as I sold them and placed the brand new OEM carpet mats in my car and the hooks were just fine. I Bought my TuxMat in 2017 Sept. and solD them for half the price I bought them for. The only thing wrong with them is that TuxMat logo has fallen off the driver mat. That’s it. I also have two kids 5 &8 year old they track a lot of snow into the car. Pics attached is what they looked like after washing them before selling them. When deciding for the new Telly I didn’t even think about any other mats... for the trunk I ordered the 60/40 Premium Cargo from Kia.

Are they hard plastic or rubber?

they are like a leatherette material feeling on top, soft and padded. The mats are composed of 3 different layers. d5L%7nvDTKyxCMDCEanjMw.webp

This is the exact setup I think I'll go for, Tuxmat First 3 rows with the canadian 60/40 trunk mat. I'm hesitating because I got a deal for used Weathertech OEM Kia mat which I fond nicer than the normal Weathertech ones.

Really helpful to see all these pictures. Do those tabs stick into the seams of the interior to hold them in place? The one thing I wonder about the TuxMat’s is that they look like they’d be slippery when wet. I’m assuming that’s not the case?
Also, are you talking about the 60/40 Canadian cargo mat for the trunk? If so, are you just paying the premium for shipping (assuming you’re in the US)?

the tabs do go into the seam where the plastic trim and the carpet meet. I don’t find them particularly slippery, only when the water that sits on top freezes in the winter. My kids bring a lot of snow into the car. Yes I am talking about the 60/40 Canadian cargo mat. I am located in Canada. So $275 plus tax. the premium price to have them shipped south of the border is crazy.

I frequent this thread and this one often

I'm pretty sure that I'm going to purchase the smartliner floormats with their cargo mat, whether that be the full coverage (2nd row) or cargo coverage (3rd row) or both.
I'll caveat with saying, I'm only specifically looking at floor mats that provide coverage between captains chairs, which limits some of the brands.

Still haven't decided on a cargo mat.
I will add that any product that rolls up like a yoga mat and just sits there until needed, while practical in ways, is not a solution that we're pursuing.

The problem we're facing is that, if we buy a product from a company that just offers 3rd row coverage (the smaller mat), we're leaving the seat backs unprotected when the seat is down. If we buy a full coverage mat, it limits you being able to put the 3rd row up, and when you do, you don't have cargo coverage.

I say we'll have the 3rd row down most often. She says we won't (and she'll probably win the argument until we need to haul things, you know, like the stroller and a load of groceries that'll probably require the seat to be down....which is often).

I feel that the 60/40 split products are the most practical, whether that means the Kia carpeted one 2020-2021 Kia Telluride Carpeted Cargo Mat With Seat Back Protection (AA017) or the canadian one OEM All Weather Premium Cargo Mat with 60/40 Seatback Protection

These ones leave the seat back protected when up or down, but the US carpeted one isn't all weather and just provides an added layer of protection and the Canadian one is $$ to ship. It does, however, meet all of the other needs. I.E. if I bought both the full or partial coverage mats from Smartliner or similar company, I'd have to store one in the garage and deliberately swap out when needed. With this option, you don't have the flexibility or convenience that the 60/40 does in that, if running errands and you need that space / protection, you can just drop and go.

-Question the misses wanted me to ask - has anyone who has the 3rd row down most often noticed any pressure indentations into the 3rd row seats? Do the backs lay directly onto the seats or is there a mechanism that acts as a dead-fall and prevents the seats from laying directly on the seat? We want to be able to protect the integrity of the seat when down.

Oh the dilemma.
This is what I'm looking at also. Thank you for this.

Pulled the trigger on the Smartliner custom fit mats and liner yesterday. I'll post some pics once they arrive and I get them put in. Lots of good options but this seemed like the best fit for what I was looking for. Still really annoyed they are only doing the 60/40 in Canada.

@Yendor - good to hear! I’m planning to pull the trigger later this week also. What cargo liner did you buy?

The Smartliner ones that come with the full 3 row + cargo area "package" for lack of a better way to put it. I figured I'd see how they worked for the cargo as it was still such a competitive price, i really didn't have much to lose. Unless i misunderstood, it should come with the front, 2nd row in between the captains and 3rd row with a cargo. May need to get something additional depending on the seats being down vs. up. [Also just got an update that it shipped already. Only order yesterday afternoon. Pretty impressive turnaround]

@Yendor - I’m going to get the package second pictured, with the 3rd row cargo mat (smaller one). I figured I’d see how that works and then if I want a larger mat, I can spring for it.

I think that's what I got. Now that i think about it, I don't really remember an option on getting the larger vs the smaller cargo mat. So, it probably is the smaller one. My thought was the same, if I need a bigger one, I'll just spring for it in the future. I'd really like to keep my fingers crossed and hope they'll wise up and market a 60/40 type for the US market. I mean why wouldn't they?

@Yendor , the first picture has the bigger one - same cost. exactly- I hope the US ends up selling that 60/40 soon

I'll post some pics when I get it for anyone interested. I don't know if you saw my edit on my first post but I got a notice that it shipped this morning. I ordered it around 3:30 pm yesterday. Impressive turnaround on their end.

Just bought the SmartLiner 3-row version through ebay from user "smartliner-usa" for the same regular price as their website. I'm assuming it's SmartLiner themselves selling through ebay. Using code HAPPY25 I was able to get an additional 25 off the price. Big time YMMV on the code but it has worked for some. Usually these don't for me but got lucky this time. It is supposed to arrive by 9/4/Friday.
