Good Dealer Dealings - List Your Good Dealer Experience

That's awesome. Lewis Belt just delivered my new Dark Moss SX Nightfall to me in San Jose.

So that was your Telluride we saw when we ordered ours. We added the nightfall purely after seeing yours. Sorry, but we touched your ride before you... Looking thru the windows with our hands trying to block the glare so we could see in. ;) I think we have nearly the same ride.

Loving it?? 😉

We ordered: Moss Green, SXP, nightfall, towing, interior illumination.

Funny you say that.

I'm going back and forth with a rep from Folsom Lake Kia. (I initially put my name down for an SX at $6,000 above msrp prior to me finding this forum and Hilltop) He's giving me every excuse or reason in the book of how and why they're at $6,000 over.

I test drive Folsom Kia telluride, white SX. Loved it. They wouldn't budge on the $6000 markup.

Long term, they are shooting themselves when there's dealers that are willing to do msrp, or closer to it. I won't be going to folsom kia for purchases. I'll be going back to Hilltop in Richmond since they were nice and taking care of us by only charging msrp. This will be my first car that I paid more than invoice for. But, this hands down beats the Highlander we originally had it sights on.

Sanraa Rosa will do $500 over on ordered ones. Just as an additional data point.

Calling them tomorrow! My folks live in the city so I can make a trip out of it.

Ask for Larry, tell him Mitch and Henry sent ya. We don't get anything, we're not related. He's just super friendly and helpful on email and phone. He even responds to emails within minutes on his days off. :)

I have to throw in a rave for Ken over at Mark Martin Kia in Arkansas. Super easy to work with and very nice. Only a $99 dealer fee on top of msrp! Unfortunately my wife had a change of heart so we had to back off.

They have a Snow White pearl and butterscotch SX AWD ( no extra packages) coming from the factory for sticker plus $99!! Someone please snag this from him and tell him Rick sent you to pick up what he backed out on! You will have to do final papers at the dealer

Ken - 501-278-0787

We bought this exact vehicle from Ken (thank your wife!), and I'll also agree that Mark Martin Kia in Batesville, Arkansas was a fantastic experience.

I am pleased to report a very positive transaction at MSRP with Halleen Kia in the Sandusky area, in Ohio. I came in from out of state and my salesman, Michael Seale, had everything ready to go. The transaction was fast and smooth. I arrived in my prior van with my family, and drove off in a 2021 Telluride "S" in Moss Green, which has quickly become my favorite car I've ever owned, tied only with my first new car from all the way back in 1997 (a limited edition Jeep Cherokee Orvis Battenkill). Don't hesitate to contact Michael Seale at Halleen Kia if you are in the market and want a fair and easy transaction.

I appreciate dealers who have been treating people right, even in the current "seller's market" condition. We may buy another Kia within the next year or two and, if we do, I'll return to Halleen Kia even though it is out of state, because I so appreciate their honesty and their clear determination to treat the customer well.

Placed my order with Ashley at i25 Kia. Now I wait for 4-6 months. She was great to work with and the shipping price is very reasonable.

Welcome to the i25 waiting club! What trim/color combo did you get? Also, what was the shipping estimate you got?

Hello Everyone,

I'm in search of a good dealer in the SE that is not gouging people. My local Kia here in Gainesville FL has an SX, but is marked up $11k over MSRP. They of course came way off that immediately, but still inexcusable in my book. Just looking for someone that is in the ballpark of MSRP (~5%).

Frank

I’m getting everlasting silver sx-p, black interior, and nightfall.

She said shipping would be $1k. i25 Kia is also adding 50k to the powertrain warranty.

Just purchased a 2021 Telluride S, Dark Moss from Fred Anderson Kia in Raleigh, NC. I was in and out in about 2.5 hours, the longest wait was waiting for the vehicle to be cleaned. My sales person Mr. Sambrano knew the vehicle very well and listen to everything I had to say. So before you purchase any car (any thing), make sure you do your research, make sure you have a high and low price and stick to it. If you go in looking and sounding like you know what you are talking about, you will get the deal you want. PS take your calculator along, and question everything, its your money. Good luck out there.

Ordered a Telluride from Lucas @ Muncie Kia this morning. Awesome to speak to, received Costco pricing, and he was completely upfront on the length of time which might be required to wait. If you're not in a super hurry, I would recommend. I registered the purchase request through the Costco Auto site and he was the one who contacted me.

Congrats on the order, what is the current wait looking like over there?

He said 8 - 12 mos. I ordered the SX P/NE/T in Wolf Gray with Black interior. He was quite limited on which options could be ordered. I ended up not ordering any at all and will just buy as dealer add-ons or after market.

I had an excellent experience with Jones Kia Bel Air, MD yesterday. After months of searching, it turned out to be dumb luck that I stumbled across an Everlasting Silver SXP that I wasn't even searching for...I thought the non-nightfall models were all gone or spoken for (or way overpriced)! I will start by saying that Jones no longer charges MSRP and there was a $2K markup on this vehicle. Seems those days are done for most dealers in the Washington/Baltimore area until stock can meet demand. That said, $2K is the lowest markup I've seen in the area (for dealers who actually have stock), and given what I've gone through to find this, and the fact that our SUV is dying a little more every day, I was fine with the markup. Plus they didn't hide it, they advertise the the higher price, which is appreciated (I'm looking at you Koons Kia of Woodbridge, VA, and your BS practice of advertising $2K over and asking for another $4K when people call). King Kia in MD has a similar model, but $7,500 over MSRP (all their SXs have that markup and have been sitting for a while).

Now on to the good stuff! I worked with Christos Koulatsos, and he was amazing! Super nice, and very attentive. He's new, so it may have taken a little longer than it normally would, but his attitude was positive and kind (not your typical pushy salesman), so I was fine with the extra time. I get put off by the pushier sales people. I get they're trying to sell cars, but there's no need to be a cocky idiot about it. I never met the sales manager - just worked with Christos and the Finance Manager, Bernie Halle.

I was pleasantly surprised that they valued my trade-in fairly (2007 Lexus RX 350 AWD). I wasn't expecting to trade it, but I figured there's no harm in a quote. Turned out they were only a little under Carvana's quote, and the convenience factor made it worth trading. Your mileage may vary.

Another plus was that I didn't get jerked around on the financing. I got the lowest rates that Kia advertises, and I was happy with that. I was prepared with info from PenFed just in case, but it wasn't needed.

All-in-all, I left Jones Kia a very happy customer! Now I just need to figure all these bells and whistles :D

TL;DR - Great experience - would buy from them again - but there is a $2K markup, so keep that in mind.

Thanks! I thought I had to give up on the Everlasting Silver (though really it should be called Neverwas Silver), but I'm so glad it worked out and I realize now that I would probably have regretted going with white. This color with those black rims just really stands out and looks super sharp. You're going to love yours :)

I want to give a shoutout to South Hills Kia in McMurray, PA. I called a couple months ago and got lucky with an incoming SX AWD that was the exact color and interior I was looking for. They had one just show up on the their inventory sheet and I went and put my deposit down. I didn't really go over pricing at that point so I wasn't sure if I would be paying MSRP or if they would try and throw something on at the last moment. They kept me updated even as the date of arrival shifted and eventually sent me a picture of the vehicle when it actually showed up a couple of days early. They got it into the shop and ready for me to pick up the next day. When arriving it was so relaxed and hassle-free I couldn't be happier. They didn't push UVO on me, they didn't push extended warranties, their fees were minimal and we signed on the dotted line and walked out. I big thank you to Leigh-Anne for making this experience above and beyond the best I have had with car dealerships. I love the car so far, going on 24 hours :), and I really hope that the relationship with this dealer going forward is as good as it has started out. I would highly recommend anyone looking for a Kia in the South Hills of Pittsburgh to head their way.

Hello!
Just received my 2021 Telly SXP Nightfall in Moss Green/Black Napa Leather last night from Hilltop Kia in Richmond CA. Moe (510-230-9198) sells them at MSRP. Can't take outdoor photos in the sun as wildfires have blanketed northern CA, and air quality is horrible. Took about 2 hours for the transaction. Only down side was the finance officer's offer of the maintenance package - which was high compared to what I have seen listed here. When I declined, I was asked if I saw the value in what I was turning down and that she was puzzled why other Telly buyers had also turned it down. Felt she was implying why weren't we (as a group) smart enough to jump on the offer. I felt like saying that if we could get a Telly below MSRP - more would pay a couple thousand for service. As we are paying MSRP (first car I have ever had to pay MSRP -- and I have owned Msport Bimmers, a Shelby Mustang, etc.) I did not want to pay anything more. Maybe short sighted on my part, but when paying over $50K out the door, every penny counts. Just my humble opinion.

On the sale side - Moe was great and I highly recommend him. When I noticed a listing for Dealer Accessories (Maint and Warranty package) tacked onto my offer, we discussed it and it was promptly taken off - without any judgement. He's a good person to deal with and willing to work with you to get you the Telly of your dreams! I had contacted other Telly dealers in Northern CA, and they were all tacking on $5-7K over MSRP. One questioned whether my un-named dealer was really selling at MSRP - and that I should watch out for tacked on fees. I did my homework and calculated tax/license fees - so that I knew approx. how much the Telly would cost. If you do the prep work - you can find MSRP offers out there.

One annoying thing (for me) about the Telly is the abundance of stickers you have to remove. There are little round orange stickers on each wheel that are a pain to remove, a windshield decal warning about the wipers, and several on the driver's window (some were removed before I took the photo (Sirius XM decal, UVO decal, etc.). Static cling would have been better.

Congrats! Call me weird but that's the best part of buying anything is taking off the protective plastics/films. Can't wait :ROFLMAO:
