• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... The ping-pong began: Kia Canada shifts all responsibility to the dealer who sold - they had to check when they received the car. The dealer who sold me the car - we are not beneficiaries of the warranty and Kia Canada promises to eliminate all manufacturing defects.
I wrote both a letter demanding to decide: who? what? what for? for what? among themselves, since I, as a client, do not care about their internal relationships. I gave them time until September 30 to decide everything, agree and eliminate. If they don't fix the situation, I go to court, it's not the first time.

For trolls and haters - there is nothing perfect in the world, and Ferrari are released with defects. Yes, any brand can be defective, the problem is how the manufacturers treat customer complaints. In my experience, Kia Canada is one of the worst and this case is a prime example. They could just fix the defects and sort things out among themselves, so no, they dragged me into this process.

Neutral party here and have a deal worked for both a Telluride and a Highlander. I have never owned a Kia and am worried about reliability, quality and value down the road. This particular Kia looks to be of very poor workmanship and has me questioning Kia. I really liked the Kia when driving it but I didn't look that closely. When you buy something brand new it should look brand new! How many people would go to the store and buy a new pair of sneakers that were dirty and scuffed in several spots? I'm gonna go give both vehicles a thorough looking over. Thanks Kwim for the original post!

I feel like the popularity/scarcity plays a significant factor here in regards to complaints to some dealerships. They probably have an attitude of you're so lucky to even have found one, and I have a long line of people who would be happy with one rather than complaining about what might seem insignificant to them. I'm about to get on a plane next week to fly to a dealership and this thread has me concerned that I'll need to bring a flashlight & magnifying glass with me ;) Seriously though, I really hope there are no major issues missed by dealer prep and that I don't find any minor ones on my inspection prior to purchase, as it's a long 6 hour ride home.

Ha Ha .. exactly what the dealerships have been saying. Can't get them, can't keep them in stock etc... I went to a dealership near me last week and they had 6 sitting on the lot available. Still there a week later, another one had 2, still there today. When I went and test drove on last week I was almost certain I would buy one, I wasn't wowed so I held off. I never never dealt with Kia and am starting to wonder if I ever want to.

I’m pretty sure you’ll find somebody on a Highlander forum with a similar post, if you look hard enough. I wouldn’t let this one, very particular, instance affect your general perception of Kia.
I had similar overall concerns initially, but this forum has helped ease my mind. Kia is on the rise in reliability rankings lately, beating out the likes of Honda.

I know and I keep trying to convince myself of that. I liken the reliability to the NFL draft ... you never know who had the best till 4-5 years down the road

Living on the west coast I called/searched online for stock and could not find any SX L at any dealerships. Most were EX and a few SX trims available, even then it wasn't that many on dealer lots.

On September 22, I contacted Kia Canada - I received an answer that they are considering. They check.
In the evening, the service manager asked me to come on the morning of 23 to take a photo.
On September 23 I was at the dealer, the service manager took a photo and sent it to Kia Canada.
On September 30, I contacted Kia Canada, asked to clarify what was happening. They said that in the process.

Yesterday I installed a radiator guard and saw that the front bumper began to peel off. 4500km and 5 weeks old car.
On the right side, the bumper rests against the headlight - this is the reason, but on the left side it does not - but peels off.
See the photo.
Tomorrow I'm going to the dealer.

PS: I'll open the topic soon: I have already decided that I will change the car for a new one, since this copy has significant defects, which is not permissible under the consumer protection law.

How will you be able to get a new car?

He is from Canada. Pretty sure they are very consumer friendly compared to the US.

Yeah I am too but I am pretty sure we don't have lemon law up here
🍿📺 Man, that sucks. I hope he gets a resolution to these issues. Alternatively, he could always sell it private party and probably just order a new vehicle. That's what I would do.

it is possible as an option, but I cannot hide about defects for the buyer and do not want to lose money due to Kia Canada. They cheat, they have to answer.

I see no issue with your front bumper? What exactly is the problem? You are nit picking. Just drive the car and enjoy it. The amount of time and energy you are giving these tiny defects is not healthy.

paint chipping because headlight too close to the fender, headlight bezel inside it the trim is pealing. I can see why he would be upset! I would be too with all the issues that he has had when the vehicle came in with all the defects.

This was a known issue on the Kia Stinger too. I personally didn’t have it but there were a significant amount of others who did have it. I wouldn’t say it was a common issue though. Just FYI.
