That's a useful graphic, thanks. We have under 2K miles on our 2021 EX. I actually logged all the computer provided engine loads and temps using a bluetooth gadget plugged into the computer socket under the dash.

14 Days and I have 900KM or 559 Miles. I’m averaging 12.6L/100km. That’s 18.6 MPG. All city driving. Did one trip on the high way for a round trip of 60km/37miles. All driving on ECO mode. Gonna baby her for the first 2k. Lol.

Hah. I got impatient and started researching it before coming back here. I saw that the BlueDriver was #1 sponsored on Amazon and had very positive reviews and ratings. Saw it listed as #1 on on a few sites.

But then I found a youtube video about Torque app on android. It can stream various data and create a dashboard showing all kinds of stats. However, BlueDriver doesn't play nicely with 3rd party apps, like Torque.

I ended up buying 'OBDLink MX+ OBD2 Bluetooth Scanner' and plan to use 'Torque' on android for real time states. Of course, it does diagnostics.

I'm fine spending $5 on an app if I can see the transmission temps and other stats while towing.

I should be getting it Saturday, just in time for a 1000 mile road trip next week. Will report back.

You can find used android phones and tablets for dirt cheap. Heck, you can buy new a Lenovo tab for less than $100 brand new. Don't need a powerful tablet for this.

I'll test it on a $33 amazon kindle fire (yes, that was the new price) that's 4 years old and has been hacked to use google play store. If that can run the app, anything can as these tablets are very weak. I'm not fond of the Amazon Fire tablets with all their bloat.

First full day of ownership, we took a day trip and here are the results. We drove in comfort mode and it was mostly two lane roads at 60 mph, some 4 lane at 65-70, probably 15 miles in town and about 20 minutes idling. The AC ran most of the day as well. Avg about 45mph.

I was majorly impressed. We traveled with a fellow Telluride owner whose results were very similar. They drove in eco.

Not trying to be a downer, but you just did pretty much the opposite of the recommended break-in procedure for a new vehicle.

The old break in procedure is pretty well antiquated. We've bought a couple of cars from out of town, 200 miles away and have driven them straight home and have never had a problem. Our Honda CRV is almost 6 years old, has 80k and has never even seen the shop outside of fluid changes.

The dealer drove my Telluride right off the lot, 230 miles to my house yesterday so I don't think my little road trip today is going to make much difference.

In break in period, you varied your speeds somewhat and it sounds like you babied it a little which is good. The manufacturer is suggesting in break in period that you dont go out and redline it to see what it will do or lug it up a hill. Its just common sense to give it a variety but with little strain to let everything seat properly.

Once we kind of realized what kind of mileage we were getting we were kind of looking to see how good we could do so we took it easy. (Who knows how the salesmen drove them)

The other Telluride is a day old as well. They followed me for the part of the trip that we did together and used ACC quite a bit. There was a 40 mile stretch of rolling hills where we really compared mpg and they got 1 mpg better than me. I don't know if it was because they were in eco, following me or using cruise. I didn't use cruise while driving with them.

I have mine on order for 6 weeks now. So expecting it soon, we will see. I would really be interested in what you found disappointing. I am trying to get as much info as possible for final decision when it arrives.

3800+ miles, across the plains, up into the Rockies, around towns, etc. Cruise typically set at 78 on Interstate. A/C running on warmest days. MPG average 28.7. I was pleasantly surprised.

2k Update (According to computer)
Mix of City and Hwy, I towed a loaded 4x6 enclosed trailer about 80 miles at 70 into a 15-20mph headwind and still got 18.5 mpg for that stretch, I got 28.5 at 75mph with a 5mph tail wind on the trip up to pick up the trailer. It's pretty windy and flat where I live. The wind doesn't seem to bother this thing as much as other cars I've owned.

I do it the old fashion way . . . Miles traveled between fill up / gallons used to fill = average 19.5 mpg.
When its hot, I do idle some to keep me cool while waiting . . .
On a trip I saw, by the instrument pane,l 26-27 mpg

Just returned from a wonderful week long camping trip into hills of Maine. Towed same micro camper as before where I’d averaged 20-22 mpg. Big change was two 12 foot kayaks on roof rack with dandy (costly too) Monroe Sea Wings to lovingly cradle the yaks in level, upright positions. MPG dropped astoundingly to 16-18. Clearly the immense added wind resistance was the culprit. Sobering... I’d traveled at up to 75 mph for long periods, in Eco mode solely. YMMV, hopefully for the better!
