If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... The KIA Telluride in Dark Moss

A question on the Nightfall option. A local dealer is telling me that the Butterscotch interior is the only available option with SX Nightfall (that is, unless you add Prestige package). Failcat tells me otherwise when I search the VINs on there for non-Prestige Nightfall, I see very recent builds with Nightfall and Black or Gray interiors. Does anyone know if this is accurate? The Kia site itself does limit me to the same Butterscotch option when I build there.
Adding the Nightfall edition does nothing to affect interior colors. If you can get a certain interior on a certain exterior color without Nightfall, you can get the same with Nightfall.

Ours is Butterscotch and its gorgeous. When we went over what was coming in, we had the choice between Moss with Gray non Nightfall or Moss Nightfall with Black. That's the one we went with, but when it showed up, the seats were actually Butterscotch. We were thrilled as I was concerned the Black seats would get too hot. This probably doesn't answer your question, but in the sticker it showed Moss with Black and the Butterscotch seats was a separate item

What I figured, that made no sense to me. The dealer tells me they are investigating. Thanks

My guess is they’re getting confused because butterscotch (and its prestige equivalent dune brown) are interestingly ordered as option packages over the black interior rather than being their own separate thing.

When you look at their window stickers, they show a “black” interior but have a line item in the options showing the color modification. It seems to confuse everyone to no end. Even over 20 months into these vehicles existing.

I have seen this occur on some window stickers. So they could just remove the package option of Butterscotch and it'd be ok? Working on a special order, and this is the hang up with me at the moment. Thanks

Looks like you want option group 030 (Nightfall) or 035 (Nightfall with towing). They must have selected 032 (Nightfall with butterscotch) or 037 (Nightfall with towing and butterscotch). They don’t want the “ITJ” option code which makes up the 032 and 037 groups.

Butterscotch is an interior color only available with SX-non prestige. So you just need to select a different interior color and that will take care of it. There is no butterscotch “option” or package.

The butterscotch interior is, in fact, a "factory installed option." It is code ITJ. It is listed right next to Nightfall (BEJ), Prestige (GSJ), Dune Brown (NPJ), and Towing (TWJ). This is why it is so confusing. Again, look at a butterscotch window sticker. You'll notice the interior color at the top says black. It's the addition of the option package that turns it to butterscotch.

Here's one so you don't have to search to find one.

I guess my local dealer doesn't understand then. They have once again told me that they cannot do anything other than Butterscotch for Nightfall non-Prestige.

Maybe they have one coming in and want to sell that one to you. Have you checked their dealership on failcat.com to see if that's the case?

Yes, thanks, well I understand the way it’s laid out on the sticker shows as an option, but on the Kia build site butterscotch is simply an interior color choice. It’s impressive you know the internal codes, but as a customer, am I really expected to know that? I would prefer to leave all that internal stuff to the dealer—just give me the interior color I asked for.

My point was that the way it’s configured is different that every other interior color for the Telluride. Which makes it confusing for customers and dealers alike.

This person’s dealer was not knowledgeable of how this works... I was trying to help them solve the problem. Only way to do that is to explain it.

I’m happy they finally figured it out.

Since failcat provides the URL to the window sticker, send the window sticker to the dealer to refute the claim.

Having heart palpitations here! 😂

FC just popped up with the ONE! Well, it’s AWD drive not FWD so will stretch the budget but I find this VERY interesting. I’ve been at the dealership 2x this week and my sales guy (who we think is awesome!) knows Im set on the S Dark Moss. Obviously I won’t know til later today if it’s allocated already BUT it’s not showing any packages, only carpet mats, which I’ve noticed is typical of this dealership on inventory for the LX and S. (This “could” be a clue it’s not sold.)

Im wondering, did he tell his order guy yesterday “Go find a Dark Moss S, I have a buyer!” 🤑

I’m trying to keep my insider knowledge close, dont really want to call the guy and say “I see you have an XXX coming” then have To splain how I know this. 😳 I’m afraid I’m not a very good liar. 😂
