• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... I’m very concerned about all the issues owners are having with their Telly. I’ve always owned Toyota 4-Runners and loved the longevity of the vehicle. I decided to purchase my first Kia Telly one year ago, now after finding this forum about a month or two I’m worried I made the wrong decision about a Kia. Anyone else starting get buyers remorse?

Can you elaborate on what issues you are referring to? Are you having issues with your T?

I have only had a problem with my door not locking from the little pad on the door handle occasionally. I’m just concerned about all I’m reading about, transmission issues, car computer completely going out, car starting on its own, etc. I’m hoping I don’t have to look forward to those issues.

You will have that with any car no matter the make. Remember, most people only post or look for a forum when there is a complaint. But, if you have buyers remorse, now is the time to get out.

Yeah, a downside of forums or Facebook groups like this are akin to looking up symptoms when you *think* something might be wrong with you. 10 minutes on webMd and you’ll be walking yourself into the ER.

I’ve had similar concerns in the past couple months of reading, having never owned a Kia, but it’s true that people aren’t typically going to come to forums and say “just another day driving my Telly, everything’s great!”
To me, this is a great place to gather data and make a decision. No car is perfect, and any car forum will have its share of issue posts.
Maybe find a 4Runner forum and see what issues are present in their latest builds...may help level the playing field.

So true.

Almost 4 weeks with new Telluride and loving it, no issues thus far. The Telluride and Palisade are the best bang for the buck in the class in my opinion. The quality and reliability of nearly all autos in this day and age is very good.

I have owned 3 Kias in my life and one Hyundai. I had engine issues with one at 88K and Kia replaced the engine no issues.

My wife has a 2001 Land Cruiser with 155k miles on it. I’ve had to replace the door lock actuators, the vsc computer is out, the sun roof doesn’t work all the time and the trim is delaminating. The engine and transmission are great though

I guess I’ve been lucky with mine all these years, just oil changes. I had 255,000 on my last 4Runner never a problem.

You do not have this with any car, thanks for the reply. I’m asking if others have had similar thoughts not that I should consider getting out now.

I am, every time when i buy korean. and then I go and buy a Korean again. on the jelly itself, the problems are not so terrible, the Japanese and the Germans are full of them - such is the world of automakers. An important point is how the manufacturer reacts to customer complaints, but here the kia has big problems.

I agree with you. Customer service is the key!

This will be my wife and I first Kia product we have purchased. We don't have the telly yet but with reading posts on issues here and there not really surprised since it is a new vehicle in their line up. I will probably just get extended warranty just for peace of mind.

I should have deleted the last sentence. I was agreeing with the opinion most makes will have issues and that most of the time people with issues will write to complain but happy people most likely won't.

Hello all, I was also a Japanese car owner only Still have 2008 Lexus with 240k miles and 2004 FX 35 with 228k miles. Bought the cars for 45k and 40k brand new. We were in the market for a car and decided to give Kia Telluride and I have no regrets. It is a well put together car. 3000 miles on it. It is early to tell if the Kia will last the same as my old cars. I definitely see that Kia has stepped up their game. I truly believe that it is game changer hence the insane demand. By the way I paid 48K for the new Telluride with tons of tech that is leap years ahead of both cars which looks a bargain compared to the old car just looking at the price and 16 years later.
