Aftermarket Wheels for the Telluride

Really nice setup man. Curious, were you like me and had a bit of remorse downgrading from 20" to 18" for the winter? Being in Canada (GTA), the winters here don't joke around, and I know the responsible thing to do is to get more rubber but still... I really miss the proportions the 20" had with the OEMs. FYI-Here's my setup, got mine on last week to beat the rush. C-Wheels 18x8 in. Apollo Alloys and 245/60R18 BLIZZAK DM-V2.

I live in Scarborough 😬 I would have loved to do 20s but what I had wanted would have cost me $3400. I was going to use the stock wheels for winter and get summers. I decided to save the money for my Thule Box and roof rack in the spring. And the 18s ride softer than the 20s. I have to drive through that eglington construction a lot so in the winter would be hell. I have no regrets I really like the look of my wheels. I was thinking of Brealin BR 08 with 265s for summer and stock wheels and Nokia’s Hakkapelitta for winter. Decided on the cheaper route. I paid $1740 all in from CEO Tires also have $100 rebate from continental.

Yeah, I totally get it. I'm in South West Mississauga, and we sometimes get pummeled here with the winter weather compared to the rest of the GTA. I too noticed the ride difference as well. It was a plesant surprise to say the least. That's a good price for your setup. I had a max budget of $2K and was able to get mine for around $1900 all in. I think come spring time when we put our summer wheels back on it will be a nice upgrade back to 20". Something to look forward to if you know what I mean. ;)

Thanks man! I got them at C-Wheels via Costco.ca. Though looks like this specific wheel is sold out now. FYI-Costco had a promo a couple of weeks back that gave you a $100 gift card with the purchase of Bridgestone tires and $100 off C-Wheels alloys. Added up to a pretty sweet deal as the prices before discount/giftcard was the best I could find online in Canada.

If anyone has the original SX black rims (non nightfall) and wants to sell them, please contact me. I have a Wolf Gray nightfall on the way, but am not a fan of the nightfall rims.

Frank
you know its cheaper to get a regular Telluride and just order the badges and grill separate? I don't like the nightfall wheels either, but the salesmen at my dealership just said for $800 can put on the blackout badges, telluride emblems, and grill for me.

Yeah I got a great deal. I paid cash so that helped the deal vastly. Definitely look forward to putting them 20s back on. So hard to keep them clean though. Ive never had black wheels before.

I'm looking to purchase these for my yet to arrive Telluride. Looking for a wider wheel in hopes of improving handling and obviously looks. Now the thickness of the tire is going from stock 50 to 35 (285/35/22) with this tire, so i'm pretty sure the ride comfort is going to suffer? Will this tire fit the Telluride? Or will i need some kind of spacer?

I had 22’s on my Ford Flex with the 35 series tire. The ride didn’t really suffer, but it’s very easy to curb your wheels with such a short sidewall, so be very careful. I did notice a little more road noise with the 22’s, but they sure do look nice.

So if i wanted to go with a 285/50/20 setup, which rim size would make sense 20x9 or 20x10?
i will say 10 or 10.5 but, i'm almost certain that it will rub if you are going 285 wide then go with 45 so 285/45/20 and offset has to be 38-40

You all have been a huge help as of lately. Looking for a little more advice! Getting the Telluride soon and I am looking around for some rims. The rims I have my eyes on are a 20" x 8.5".

Question is, I am not sure what offset to go with. Options are 35 or 45. Tires would remain the stock 245/50/20.

thanks!

if you are going to keep the 245 go with the 35 offset it will give it a more aggressive stand

I think next set would still only be 255. That shouldn't stick out too far with a 35 offset hey?
