• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... What would you say the Telluride feels more like, the K900 or the Cadenza? As far as quality of luxury. Interior noise, luxury and high tech features, power and whatever else you can think of.

After driving in many Audi models, Acuras, Lexus, Lincolns and Cadillacs, I’d say the Telluride is comparable and even beats out many of the luxury brands in terms of all the features it has in the top SXP trim. Nothing comes close in terms of the value proposition for MSRP pricing.

Some obvious deficiencies in the SXP when comparing to the luxury segment:
  • Engine power/performance
  • Some interior door panel alignment areas not seamless (ie door armrest)
  • Exterior door handle lock/unlock is not touch activated (ie uses a physical button) and is not present on all 4 exterior handles.

Kia / Hyundai have never been a luxury.
These brands have taken a stance: mediocre quality, good range of options, nearly the best warranty on the market, terrible customer service, and solution to warranty problems. And such a set allows them to keep the minimum price in comparison with competitors, which is the main impetus for sales in recent years.

Here's a prime example in the screenshots: Kia Canada didn't even bother to take a normal K5 photo for a 360 view. Photographed a car with a defective assembly. In my opinion, it should be a shame to expose such as a sales push.

It's more akin to the FL Cadenza (premium, not luxury).

The interior of the K900 is on a different level.

Do you think Kia will ever launch an SUV with K900 type luxury appointments?
no, since the kia / hundai have a luxury brand genesis.
the policy of Koreans is as follows: kia for young and / or family. Hyundai for people over 40. Genesis for luxury lovers.

That seems like an unfair deal for Kia...

In a way, they already have with the FL Mohave (abeit not quite K900 level, but more premium than anything else in the Kia lineup).

There is no such policy with regard to luxury.

The K900 isn't for the young and is luxury, and frankly neither is the K7/Cadenza.

Kia execs have stated that they have been contemplating doing a luxury crossover; can see them doing one to either replace or be ev an addition to the Stinger (if they decide to continue with it).

True, K900 is 100% luxury and nearly on par with the Genesis G90. Do you think the Mohave is coming to the U.S.?

^ Hard to say, because think the FL Mohave would do pretty well now (when the Borrego launched, it was at the worst time - in the grip of the Great Recession and high fuel prices; plus more buyers are more comfortable with the idea of spending $45k+ on a Kia these days).

But unless there are updates that I'm not aware of, the Mohave sits on an old platform.

Hyundai and Kia have been working on a new BoF platform to underpin pickups and BoF SUVs, so Kia may just wait for that (even if a Land Cruiser rival would be a few years away).

However, there's a recent report of Kia using the Mohave platform to underpin a series of vehicles for the Korean military, so there's the chance that we may see the Mohave under the guise of a hard-core, off-road vehicle (like the original Hummer).

Great information. Thank you! :)
