The KIA Telluride in Black Copper

My husband sent me this pic from Instagram today. The colour is gorgeous!!!

Is this black copper ? Looks like moss green to me..

Definitely black copper. When the sun hits it, it looks like a different car. I love it

Looks like moss to me. Don’t get me wrong, that is a beautiful color and picture, but I think that’s Moss. I haven’t seen my black copper look like that.

Just came across a really cool pic on Black Copper on Instagram

Now THAT is Black Copper. I can’t really say I’m thrilled with the wheel combination. I do like the basket, but I’ve never been thrilled with the OEM cross bars
I find it interesting that they highlighted the nightfall package but this ride isn’t a NE. Maybe they just didn’t have one available. Maybe they were just highlighting the accessories. Who knows, but it is a gorgeous photo!

Yeah I think they just didn't realize or probably wanted to hashtag stuff. Regardless this is one of the best pics of this color

Just got my T-ride back from ceramic coating today and captured a few good shots of the black copper doing its thing in the sun.

I have mixed feelings about it. I wanted a white one. I would have loved a White Nightfall! And now that the Wolf Grey is coming out....hmmmm. The choices were limited at the time that I got this one so I had to make a quick decision. Also, the overall choices in colors on the Telluride are lacking. I don't regret getting the Black Nightfall, but I do think it is very dark at times. Some say it looks like an unmarked cop car. There are some parts that I prefer the dark over the shiny. I don't like the bright chrome around the windows on the normal black T-rides. I also like the dark side molding and headlight bezels over the chrome on the Nightfall. The darker Kia badges are not too bad, but I am not a big fan of the blacked out SX, AWD, and Telluride name badges. They should have been done in black chrome, because they disappear into the abyss as they are.
On a side note. I was not happy when the dealership stuck their chrome name plate on the back of this vehicle with everything else that is blacked out. It looked bad. So, I got the dealership to give me a couple of their name badges so I could paint one black and reapply. (I had to do it! The owner of the dealership is a very close friend so I have to represent for him.) Go Herson's Kia!

You don’t have to do anything.

Your vehicle, not his/her billboard.

Nobody picks their dealer based on those badges in the modern world. Maybe up until 2010 or so they made some sense. Since then people are online in these forums and at other websites doing dealer and car research.
It is tine for the dealer badge to be abolished!

I have a 2021 Telluride EX AWD Nightfall Black Copper coming November 30. It’s impossible to tell the difference between Black Copper and Ebony Black from pictures online - you have to actually see it up close - so I went down to the dealer to see another Telluride with Black Copper. I always drive black vehicles so I was pretty sure I’d prefer the Ebony Black. Not so. Black Copper, in the sun, is terrific. It does not look brown at all. It’s black without the sun, and almost a subtle dark gold or dark auburn in the sun. Terrific color now that I’ve seen it up close. As a side note, they had a Wolf Grey 2021 EX there, and while I don’t typically like grey, Kia’s particular Wolf Grey is definitely very cool.

Post #602 is the best picture of a black copper in the sun I've seen in the 1 year I've had one. Definitely wish I would have ceramic coated it on day 0 though.

My Black Cooper was delivered to my dealership yesterday and I will be picking it up next week when I get back in town. Will post pics when I get it home.

The NF touch is nice esp the new grille design IMO. I am considering just to change the grille at the some point, and wonder it would turn out. I am fine with other chromes to give some contrast. Maybe cover the window trims with 3m vinyl at the most??

The dealership I went to in Bowie Maryland a month ago told me before I put a down payment down that the EX AWD Nightfall was normally $39k but they marked it up $6k to 45k. Said I was getting a break because some dealerships were marking them up 12k. So today, a month later, they said oh it’s $45+6k or $51. I despise bait-and-switch. I was a little annoyed so I went to another dealership and got the SX AWD Prestige Nightfall Black Copper for a little more than $ 51k. LOL

I have black copper and love it! It looks jet black but when that bright sun hits her, it’s that pop of color that comes out. She looks amazing in sunlight. I had people stop and ask what color it was. I agree, an all black out car does look like an unmarked cop car plus, it will be an oven in the summer with heat. My 2008 Nissan Rouge was a all black everything and retained heat. I think a lot of people will have issues being pulled over for it. I decided to keep the chrome to break up all that darkness. As my husband says the chrome adds character to a car but to each is own.

It’s been a week since I’ve owned my black copper. I bought it primarily because it was the only black copper in the city and I wanted to have a unique colour and vehicle. (There are only 5 or 6 Tellys in my city). Otherwise, I think I would have gone everlasting silver. So, my advice is, if you like a black vehicle, the black copper is a nice option and has a, sometimes, subtle difference than the regular ebony black. If you are buying it to stand out from the other colours and to really pop as a unique colour, it’s not going to do that. Mostly, it’ll look black. Sometimes, in the sun, you get a tint of copper - as long as it’s clean. If it’s not clean, any dust prevents the copper coming through, even on a sunny day.

All that said, I don’t regret my choice: it’s a beautiful vehicle and I’m really enjoying it

Black copper at night, you can see the copper hue in it when under the street light, so yes its more about an element of surprise for this vehicle than standing out like the moss or everlasting silver

Finally got everything done and found time to wash it! Cloudy out right now so none of the copper is popping but believe me. She is black copper.
