Order to delivery time

I ordered my Telluride on 10/10, with the order to be placed with Kia 2 weeks later; fully expecting it to be a 10-12 week process, with a delivery in late Jan. Rec'd a text from Dealer yesterday - ETA is 12/17 which kind of threw me for a loop. 2021 SXP, Gravity Gray with Grey, AWD, Towing, +other...

Should I fully expect this date to be pushed out?

Could be a dealer allocation or customer cancel. There should be a VIN available, ask your dealer or search failcat. If dealer told you 12/17, they are pretty close to the date.

I know based on my specific order, KIA held November deliveries until Second week of December as all vehicles to be built prior to year end will come on one truck or early in December to ensure 2020 sales

I don't think it is a dealer allocation - they had no intent of ordering SX with light grey interior, mud guards, lighted scuffs... It was ordered for me and we actually waited 6 weeks to place the order so that it would come in Jan. Not that I care, but I have a lease that expires @ end of March and it has tons of miles to eat up... This one might sit for a bit, unfortunately... although I doubt I will be able to stay out of it..

Well you are doing a lot better than me. I ordered mine on 9/24 and according to salesman, it has yet to be picked up by KFOS. It is what it is i guess. Already waited 2months+ so whats another 2months

Finally picked up my Telly SXP yesterday and was well worth the wait! Got the SX in Gravity Grey with Dune Brown Nappa leather, Prestige and Towing packages. Ordered on 9/1, VIN created on 11/4, picked up on 11/23 so a shade under 3 month turnaround, which is awesome b/c I was told 4-5 months when ordered from Fairfax Kia.

So excited to drive this... literally anywhere at this point.

Sometime, dealer will get random surprise allotment. It may have been your luck to have it match exactly your trim/option. That doesn't matter anyway. Ask your dealer for the Vin, or check on failcat for that dealer and see if anything matches up. With Vin, Stephen here can verify the ETA.

I appreciate the notion - I have wanted one of these since I first saw them in the SuperBowl commercial. Everyone that I have seen with them, I have talked to... absolutely love their Telly. I am excited to get it, but for the time being I can wait. If it comes before Xmas, I will be surprised. If not, I certainly have options.

So, if you see above, you will see my story. Paid 10/10, ordered a week or two later. Rec'd notice of an ETA of 12/17. Shock... More of a shock was that I just got a text that it was on the lot.

Not to sound ungrateful, but I have a vehicle with a lease through 4/1, another 3 vehicles and a bike. I don't want to pay for this to have it sit while I try to eat up the 1/2 mileage I have on my other lease - and it will be too difficult to not drive this. Looks AMAZING!! They will sell it by the end of the weekend, and another will be ordered. So much for 10-12 Weeks minimum - as it was 6 from deposit, 4 from order.

Dealer was very understanding and amenable to the situation. Talk to Halleen Kia, Sandusky Ohio - awesome people!
