Order to delivery time

Thanks. Mine was an October acceptance with an initial ETA of 12/20. No VIN yet. I didn't expect the date to end up being accurate, but no VIN at this point is still a bit surprising.
 
I ordered my SXP Nightfall end of August...VIN created 11/17...Arrived at dealership yesterday and picked it up today.

Dealership says that they've got my order but that it's different from what I requested... Particularly it is prestige and no tow package (I was wanting to change to hitch only anyway). I was told that they match allocations as closely as possible, not necessarily getting the exact order. I was never told that before, but perhaps I didn't quite grasp all the details of allocations. Not a huge deal in the end, though I didn't really need the prestige and would rather have the butterscotch interior instead of dune brown. January ETA now, as I assumed.

Is this normal or just how my dealership appears to operate?

Good afternoon @StephenCantrelle, i ordered a Telluride in October, and saw a similar one on Failcat this morning that was assigned to my dealer, so i went up to the dealer and took over the VIN that was generated this morning. He was unable to give an exact date for some reason and said he would get back to me. Can you please check VIN 5XYP5DHCXMG146962, and let me know what you are seeing? Much appreciated sir.

@StephenCantrelle quick (hopefully) question on allocations -- from what I have understood to this point, putting in an order would yield what was ordered with the only alterations possibly being to PIO, since I have read a few times on here that certain PIO had been passed off to dealerships to help speed up the production process. My order was for a NF w/ no prestige (J4482/037), but my dealership has told me that my order is going to have both (J4482/040) and what looks like no other PIO on it (no VIN yet). It seems off to me, as that's a pretty big change from what I ordered, so I'm wondering if I perhaps didn't fully grasp the extent of the allocation matching process. I have a copy of the Kdealer confirmation, and it shows J4482/037, not J4482/040.

My ETA ended up pushed back from early January to end of January. I sold my old car months ago, so hoping it doesn’t get pushed back much more 🤪

Sounds to me they may have transferred your order from kdealer to KFOS when this was still an option to do manually and missed click the package. 37 package is right above the 40 package..

Guess I could possibly see that, and if so it's no wonder they didn't tell me that straight up haha. Mine was accepted in October though, which I thought was after the changes to the process (September?). The tow package I requested also wasn't on there, so this all just seems odd.
 
Just an observation, on Failcat(website that shows vins of Tellurides being delivered to each dealership nationally), if you ordered SX AWD with N/T/P, you are pretty much screwed. Cause only like 1 or 2 get delivered daily nationally. If you order the same but EX AWD with N/T/P you are in good shape cause they are delivering ton of those on a daily basis.....So guess this is why my order has not been picked up by KFOS......
