• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... I ordered a Telluride SXP AWD in August. It is now in transit to the dealer. However, after reading the thread regarding vibration issues many seem to be having with AWD, I feel reluctant to pull through with buying the car. Looks like this has been an ongoing problem and Kia hasn’t addressed the issue.

Does this seem to be a small batch issue? Or do many people just not notice or care about the vibration? For those who dealt with the issue, what would you recommend?

I was very excited to get this car and for it’s arrival in about 2 weeks, but I also don’t want to be stupid about it and be stuck with the stress of getting the issue fixed if it happens.

I do not notice it in my awd. I also think it is a small percentage that are affected by vibration. Forums and SNS are usually medium for people with problems. You will not have any cars to buy if you make your decision based on online forum.

I have an AWD on order as well. I plan to test drive it at speeds up to 80mph. If there is a vibration, I’ll see if I can transfer my deposit to a FWD.

As with anything on forums, Facebook, feedback pages, etc. you have to put it in perspective. People who are unhappy with or have issues with something will be the most vocal. A more limited number will provide praise for things. That said, the large middle who is likely plenty happy will not say anything or may not even be on these forums. While the vibration problem is very real based on sufficient feedback from folks here, there would be a whole lot more folks on the forum complaining about it if was bothering them. I personally have only driven my Telluride at highway speeds once on the way home from the dealer a week ago and did not notice anything.

I have AWD with no vibration issues.

The thing with forums like this is that extremes tend to get captured - big headaches and big joys. All cars have problems, even right out of the factory. I had a new Honda CRV that leaked oil from day 1 (eventually fixed). I had another that had a faulty AC unit (replaced at no cost). I had three other Hondas with zero issues over their lifetime, aside from the inevitable and occasional safety recall. My Telly currently has zero issues, but who knows what will happen? You'll never find a perfect car manufacturer - you can look up stats and read personal stories about every single brand that will make your hair stand on end.

Of course, you need to be comfortable and confident with your choice. That's a very personal thing. But forums like this are built on people sharing very particular experiences, which provides a skewed impression.

worth it. and not only because of vibration, but because of all the problems, or rather the problem is not a problem if it is solved. And the Koreans have terrible customer service. if you are lucky, everything will be ok, and if there are problems with the car, then amazing adventures await you.

Your choice. I have no vibration issues on my AWD Telly. When your car gets to the dealership, take it for a test spin and see if the new car produces any vibration before you sign any final paperwork.

Echo post above. I knew about reported vibration when I took delivery in August 2019. Test drive it at highway speeds to check. Smooth and comfortable ride. Still smooth. I've never seen a video of anyone describing their vibration issue - so not sure if it's a defect or if it's something to do with transport.

Kia has fixed a few people's vehicles.

Who was the Kia repaired?
Haven't ready through all 40 some pages but @mgoblue got it fixed and is helping out tremendously with my issues. There were a few others that got it fixed too.

The most troublesome point is that the issue is definitely there but the troubleshooting is all over the place by Kia...

In the Vibration thread. Several people talked about it long ago, but eventually found a solution.
who are these people? I only know one.

Ok so I looked through the Vibration thread....the posters in 2019 with the issue got help without much trouble...

Fast forward to around page 30...things changed...Kia and the dealers for the most part are fighting tooth and nail with Anyone going in with this issue...

test drive before you buy. Unless you prefer buying an SUV with less awards and acclaim.

Wish I had a clear cut answer to give you.

It seems like I’m one of the lucky ones that got the vibration sorted out. But it was a painful process - and perhaps more importantly, not my only issue with my Telluride. There’s a good chance I have a “lemon” in legal terms, and may eventually give it up. Still thinking through that.

BUT, I have absolutely enjoyed the Telly experience when everything is working. The ride is (now) great, I love the interior and features, my wife and kids are happy in it, the third row is truly actually very roomy when we’ve had to use it. When all is right, it delivers on its value.

I honestly don’t know what I’d get instead if I had to replace it. Nothing in this rough price range compares, so I’d likely end up paying more for a Volvo or Tesla.

@Telluride650 , if possible, take a normal car. Any car breaks down, only manufacturers react differently. Why do you think Koreans are more stuffed and less cheaper? If Koreans have normal customer service, it will cost more and who will buy it then? So it's up to you whether to play or not.

I bought a 2020 SXP AWD in May and have had no vibration issue. I say go for it!

I have an April 2019 delivery EX AWD. I frequently drive at 75-85 MPH on highways. NO issues. As others have said dont let a few rampaging posters scare you off. Test drive it if it makes you more comfortanble.
