• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... 14.10 update (November 2020) now available

I have to admit the new home screen with the subtle navigation map blended into the background looks kind of cool to me. And if they added weather forecast without Uvo then that's really cool. It's one of the things I was thinking would be a bummer to lose when Uvo expires (I have a 2021, so remote start isn't a problem). The radio screen and overall purple "flair" is hard for me to like though. Now that they have profiles, it would be nice if they introduced a concept of UI themes. Just a few pre-packaged themes that would appeal to different groups of people. I agree with whoever mentioned that the radio screen reminded them of Winamp from 20 years ago.
Does the 2021 have remote start on the key fob?

Yes

If you really want to see a change to the next software update then everyone needs to post comments to MnSoft site (link below) as they are listening but it does not seem that there are enough comments on their site to make a difference. Please consider posting to their site ASAP.

Is it just me or is the new update sluggish? When I press radio or map button, it takes like 1 second for it to appear on the screen. Sometimes I see the pink spinning wheel.. what’s up with that? CarPlay is responsive so I’m betting on shitty code optimization by the engineers in charge of this.

Worth calling out that Hyundai updated their site last week, and mentioned that version 15.0 is expected on April 19, 2021. Given the version number jump, I think we can hopefully infer that it will be a major update.

I remember the same thing was posted on the Hyundai website for the version 14 update and Kia came out at the same time. There was no mention on the Kia side either.

I wouldn’t expect anything big. 13 > 14 was not a “major” update. It was 14.5 > 14.10 that brought the noticeable UI changes. So it is really difficult to infer what might or might not happen until we actually see it (in about two months, it appears).

Just picked up my new Telly yesterday. Thankfully, it had the 3 screen version...

I'll hold off on the update, maybe they will revert back...although I might be in the minority, but I like the purple theme 🤷‍♂️

hey guys
so i noticed that the list of eligible vehicles includes the 2020 tellurides, but not the 2021.
i've also seen people on here say despite the 2021 not being listed, we can install the update on the 2021.

are you positive this is allowed? safe? is this kia just being lazy or forgetting to update the list?

Many have successfully installed the update on 21. as far as I know, there is no difference in hardware between 20 and 21. That said, someone on this thread contacted Kia support and support recommended not to install it on a 21. So the choice is up to you. Update is pretty fail safe if you follow directions(use quick update ~30min), BUT if it fails and your dealer could deny warranty based on the fact that it was for a 20. Probably will never happen but always know your risk. Most prefer the older 3 pane style and color, so unless you need the updated map, you should hold off until April update.

Here is an example of a nice radio (Sirius XM) interface taken from a Nissan Sentra. Shows clearly the logo of station your on with a nice logo, album artwork, name of song, etc. and all other presets with their respective logos. Also note that the station presets are not just in numerical order but are in a user defined order. If Nissan can do this and fit it all on a smaller screen, surely the folks at Kia should be able to make something equally as good if not better.

Yeah I’m a fan of user profile which Kia has available in other vehicles in their lineup. How it looks and all that doesn’t matter to me but I would like to have my own stations and user settings that are linked to my FOB

Is everyones software super responsive? I have the newest update and it seems sluggish. When I press Radio, or Map or Nav, it literally takes minimum 1 full second to actually get into that screen. Sometimes the spinning wheel in the middle shows up. Is it just me or does that happen to everyone?

Mario, It is a bit slower than before, but varies as it does not always happen. This new interface is a nightmare. I hope Kia is listening to the owners in this forum and will get a much better user interface out real...soon. I am friends with one of the salespeople at a local Kia dealer and he recently had someone back out of buying their Kia just because of the new interface and they are now looking at the newly designed Nissan Pathfinder which looks really nice and is going to give Kia a run for their money, so they best get this right soon.

Someone backed away from a vehicle because of a software release…..🤨

That's what I was told. I like you think there was more to and perhaps they saw that the new Pathfinder was just released and wanted to get that instead. According to my friend they did put up quite a fuss when they saw the new interface. You have to admit that do nothing purple home screen is just awful!
