If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... 14.10 update (November 2020) now available

Does anyone else have an issue with their Android Auto freezing up particularly after making or receiving a phone call.

I have a 2020 SX/P and with the latest version of the infotainment software loaded it is happening just by itself intermittently but also after making or receiving a phone call.
Many times when I have an incoming call I can't even select the yes or no from the screen to take or deny the call as it is frozen. The only way to answer the call is to use the steering wheel controls.
I had a Samsung Note 9 it was doing it on that phone so I waited till I just recently upgraded to a Samsung S21 Ultra and the same thing is occuring. Also happens with my wife's phone too which is also an S21 Ultra. I even tried different cables and it still occurs.

My wife has Android Auto in her Nissan Altima and it works fine with the same phones.

Curious if this is happening or has happened to anyone else and if there's a fix.
I'm on a long hold now waiting to speak with someone from the UVO support team.
Just caught this and yes, does the same thing with my Samsung S21 phone after receiving a call. Need to unplug the cable and plug it in again. Not great.

I'd still like to know how the team at Kia agreed that this was a forward thinking change in the GUI.

I wish i paid attention to what changed before applying the updated (i just wanted the map updates). This feels like a major step backward in GUI especially since you can't even customized the colors...not going to even start on the radio tubes.

I've gotten used to the new interface, but it definitely is not better than before... Kia really needs to revert back or modify it to something similar to what it was.

Anyone hear about the upcoming Sept 2021 update and what if any changes have been made?

Anyone hear about the upcoming Sept 2021 update and what if any changes have been made?
FYI - I asked the question on the Mapnsoft forums, and here is the response I got:

Thank you for reaching out to us. The fall update is currently estimated to be released on November 5th, however that date is subject to change if something comes up. We do not have any software information about the update at this time as Hyundai AutoEver only provides the mapping data for these updates. If you would like more information about the software changes immediately, then you would want to contact Customer Care as they would have more information about the software. Otherwise, you can reach out to us closer to the release date and we will be more than happy to provide any available information about the update. If you need assistance with navigation updates please do not hesitate to reach out to us via the chat portal or call us at 888-757-0010, thank you again and have a great day!

Driving a loaner 2020 Honda CRV while one of our other vehicles is in for service and even Honda's interface (which use to be old and dated) now blows away the current interface in my 50K Telluride. It will show you turn-by-turn from Android Auto on the center of the dash under the speed even when using Waze or Google Maps. Kia only does that when you use their built in Nav. It also will show you the name and artist and a small cover art of anything you are streaming on the center area of the dashboard below the speedometer while using Android Auto on the main Infotainment display!

It also runs much faster and the touch screen responds better.

Telluride is a really nice vehicle with a great ride, but now comes with a 3rd rate Infotainment system since they messed it all up!!

Interesting review. Which Trim level is your loaner? The biggest complaint about the CR-V is the higher trim levels infotainment system. It is not intuitive, cumbersome, and the screen is small. If you have an EX or higher, can you put it to the test and share your thoughts? And, of course, compare it to the Telly’s Barney system?

My Telluride android auto also freezes up after phone call for my note 10 and my wife's S21 ultra. Must unplug and plug back in to get to work again. Hoping this gets fixed in next update.

This is a know issue. My dealership has had several complaints and not just on Telluride. Finally got Kia to replace mine. Hopefully a new one will resolve this issue.

Replace exactly what? I've had the same issue with my Samsung to the point I use the guidance on my phone. Maybe its me but I really don't see a huge advantage of using AA.

Replacing the entire Infotainment system. If used correctly Android Auto is a real help and helps you keep your eyes on the road better than using your phone and part of what you pay for when buying a vehicle that has it.

I understand the ins and outs of AA, just not a big deal to me. As far as replacement of your entire infotainment system because of this one app being glitchy, I'm very surprised. When owners have to do everything in their power to get defective windshields replaced, this seems not in their nature. So it was an actual hardware issue?

It's not the App that's glitchy it's the head end unit or infotainment system. Android Auto works fine in our Honda CRV, Nissan Altima and even in the Kia Optima loaner they gave to me while they had my Telluride to check this problem. It is a known issue and the dealer I brought it to is dealing with several others.

Weird. We have friends with a couple year old Honda Pilot Elite and their infotainment is complete trash compared to my SX-P. The screen is tiny (top end model) and the speedometer area looks like it taken from an 1981 Delorean. When you're in Apple Carplay it's not too bad and seems pretty snappy. Maybe the CRV has a better infotainment system than the Pilot? That would be weird.

Is this the system in the CRV that is so good?

On a side note, I use a Samsung S20FE and have never had any issues but I use a wireless dongle.

Which one? AAWireless? Please elaborate ... AA cable issues are driving me nuts. I also have a S20FE.

What was it that Kia replaced to address the issue?

I recently asked when my car was in the dealer for a 22,500 service about issues I was having with AA. This dealer has been helpful with me getting my new windshield. Mentioned there has been problems mentioned with others and if there are any service bulletins. Nothing. Oh, he did say that I need to plug the USB into the correct outlet. Duh.

Android auto doesn't freeze up. The telluride thinks it is still in telephone mode or something. I click the map button and then go back to android auto.
