Learning so much about driveshafts following this thread. This video great for those trying to keep up with the discussions.
Max working angle and velocity fluctuations really are explained very well in terms of how it can cause vibrations.

At 4:50, phasing (synchronizing u joints) is explained. Another potential cause of heavy vibration if sync not installed properly.
My mind in the gutter when seeing the slip joints in action. Lol.
Not sure if that was an attempt at an unempathetic joke or you sincerely can’t see frustrated consumers who spent a decent amount of money to get shafted by a driveshaft. Please dont bring logic/observation into this discussion. I'm happy they finally agreed to fix the issue.7 Days after Kia HQ in Irvine received my written buy back/ lemon lawsuit request (certified mail along with copy of service docs, AG compliant, NHTSA complaints, email history with dealer) they replied back by email.
They said that 1 final attempt to repair the car would be made before they would consider buying the car back. They asked for my purchase contract and loan information.
Miraculously they were also able to schedule the field tech to come back to the dealer the following week (after dealer continuing to not have an ETA).
So my car has been there the last 4 days and it has been driven a total of 155 miles by the field tech. Today, I got a call and they FINALLY agreed to order a new driveshaft, coupler, and flex pipe. Of course this is what I originally suggested 4 months ago during my 1st trip there.
Will keep you all posted if it fixes the vibration. I should have her back by next weekend.
at one time, some frustrated forum users trolled me with my problems. Now there are new ones who troll them. a life. Not sure if that was an attempt at an unempathetic joke or you sincerely can’t see frustrated consumers who spent a decent amount of money to get shafted by a driveshaft.
For the record I just asked you questions about your decisions to lease and we discussed differences of opinion on the CX-9 thread. I never trolled anyone who expressed genuine concern about their vehicle problems and was looking for help on the Forum.at one time, some frustrated forum users trolled me with my problems. I know. I'm not talking about you. life is like this: there will always be users who will shout with foam at the mouth that there are no problems. Kia is the best car in the world, it wins all the awards itself, etc. I think you shouldn't just react to them. For the record I just asked you questions about your decisions to lease and we discussed differences of opinion on the CX-9 thread. Did I miss something? There you have it folks two users were able to fight tooth and nail to get Kia to fix the issue.
Congratulations to @mgoblue and @Austin3000!
That goes to show you that if you are following this thread and interested in a 2021 SX-AWD, follow through with it - don't let this issue hold you back.
Like I've said time and time again anything is fixable - this issue being so expensive to repair is causing the end buyer a serious amount of stress!!
Another forum member got Kia to replace the Driveshaft and AWD coupler.Did I miss something?
Really? Lucky son of a gun.Another forum member got Kia to replace the Driveshaft and AWD coupler.
Maybe Kia will issue a similar one.
I'm taking a wild guess here but I do believe those of us with 2021 vibration issues probably do have manufacturing dates within a 5 month window as noted on the Palisade TSB."... correct a vibration on certain 2020MY Hyundai Palisade (LX2) AWD vehicles produced from April 10, 2019 to July 27, 2019."
This makes me wonder more if Telly serial numbers might reveal something about this issue.
Austin, where do you live and how long ago did they fix it?7 Days after Kia HQ in Irvine received my written buy back/ lemon lawsuit request (certified mail along with copy of service docs, AG compliant, NHTSA complaints, email history with dealer) they replied back by email.
