In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... I found a place in Northern Virginia (I’m in Richmond, Virginia), that will add PPF, Ceramic and Tint to my incoming 2022 SX-P in GWP with tow and dune brown interior. The price I received is as follows.
Expel PPF “Full“ Premium Front end wrap for $2195.00
(they can also do a standard wrap for $1295.00 for the front end.)
Opti-Coat Pro ceramic coating with 5 year warranty $1299.00
(I could get the Opti-Coat Pro + for $1699.00 with a 7 year warrant. Any thoughts?)
Opti-Coat Pro ceramic coating of all four wheels inside and out $399.00
Prime XR Ceramic Tint 35%Front two doors $329.00
This includes paint correction and about 3 to 5 days to complete for an out the door price of $4222.00 with what I’ve agreed to so far.
What are your thoughts on this since my vehicle will be garage kept. Is this a fair price and do you recommend this for a new car that’s just been delivered or will be delivered?
I’ve just found a place here in RVA that can detail my 2022. They’re not open until Monday but has anyone ever had work done by Tint World? My daughter said everyone she knows in Hickory, NC goes to the one in Raleigh to have their vehicles detailed. There’s a Tint World here and I’m thinking about it since I have no idea how to transport my new 2022 when it gets here on June 23rd to Detail Authority in Fairfax, Virginia and then leave it with them for 3 to 5 days and then have to go back to pick it up. I checked with U-Haul and not only would I have to rent the car carrier but a truck as well. About $300 one way.
Any suggestions on Tint World or how to transport a vehicle for such a purpose. TIA. I also have no idea what Tint World charges or what they use for PPF, Ceramics and tint.

They've upped their prices...here's a quote I got from them a week ago:
Full Front Clear Bra - $1800 plus tax. This covers your bumper, headlamps, full hood, full fenders, and side-view mirrors. We wrap the edges around the panels where possible for the best protection and most seamless look.

All our pricing includes the prep necessary for the application of the film. We also do door edge guard for free when you spend $300 or more with us. Both our 3M Pro Series and XPEL Ultimate Plus films carry a 10-year manufacturer backed warranty.

The 2 Front windows are $100 plus tax for the pair with our standard film, which has a lifetime warranty.

Why such a big price jump? I got mine done in November and I paid around $2700 out the door for the following:
- Standard Protection PPF plus door cups and door edge guards
- Xpel Fusion ceramic coating with add-ons of windshield and four wheels fully coated, both outside and barrels

I'm looking forward to it. Every day, I drive through two construction zones and along country roads, and my car gets so dirty!
Stumbled across this yesterday. You said construction site and I thought of this immediately. Might post a separate thread also. Check it out.

Been thinking about getting these when my 2022 order comes through.... is there some other product besides those black zip ties that may work better/be less visable? I've been trying to think, without having to take the grill off, is there some way to attach them with something much less visible.... Any ideas?

Maybe some small wire rope? Don't know if that's much more concealed.
Some people have used smaller zip ties that are less conspicuous, would just have to check periodically to see if any break. That's what I think I will do.

It's great concept, but it would probably look better if they were installed behind the factory grill. Then you wouldn't lose an aesthetics and the zip tie heads would be behind the mesh.

Long overdue thread. More than a dozen threads talk about PPF and Ceramic coatings on the site.

Consolidating that to one thread.

Feel free to share ideas, pictures, equipment recommendations and of course list killer dealers anyone finds out there relating to detailing.

My Telluride has XPEL Ultimate as a "highway" package. Full front bumper, partial hood, partial fenders, full mirrors.

IGL Kenzo 4 year Ceramic coating.
IGL Leather Ceramic coating on inside leather surfaces - did this myself. Very easy.

Foam shampoo of choice: Gyeon Quartz Bathe+ (1/5 of cannon shampoo and 4/5 warm water)
Bucket soap - Carpro Reset
Wheel cleaner - Chemical Guys Signature Wheel cleaner
Quick detailing Spray - Carpro Reload & Ech2o aka Magic Merlin Mix

As you can see I'm really into this stuff and some others on here are as well - let's get this rolling!
With my previous cars, I usually get a chip guard treatment on the car. The last one (2019 Honda Insight EX) was from a company called Ziebart. It's a clear protective coating, completely covering the front bumper and about half way up the hood. The side front bumper has some protection as well as the front of the driver and passenger side mirrors. I live in a snow area in winter (eastern Washington), and we often take winter trips across the mountain passes which have lots of small rocks and sand on them. The treatment for my Honda was about $1,300. Any suggestions for something a little cheaper that would protect my Telluride in such a case?

For paint protection film you'll find for standard protection, you'll pay anywhere between $750 and $1700 depending upon your location. For a reference of what Standard or Full protection means, visit Midwest Clear Bra to see the description. Clear Bra Paint Protection - MidWest Clear Bra

Spray on chip guard will not give you the same level of finish or protection that the film will provide. Film is self-healing and is easily replaceable if a section gets severely damaged. I'd do more investigation to determine what you really want on your new car to protect it and also be easy to maintain.

I found a place near me that I think has great prices.

PPF:
Full Titantium $1,895 (full car they said... seems to good to be true)
Plat $1,595 front +partial fender

Ceramic:
Gold Level: $2,100 9 coats..?
Silver Level: $1,600 1 coat

Tint:
Good better best
$425

Windshield protection. (included in ceramic prices)
$295

I've never heard of a product that requires 9 coats. All the top performing professional coatings only require one.

Yes I'm thinking of doing full wrap, 1 coat, and then tint front windows to match back, depending on how dark the back windows are. They also do the coat on the rims and they take the tires off.

Can a shop do tinting and full ceramic and then do PPF later?

Doing the PPF afterward kinda defeats the purpose of the ceramic coating on the front. They coat the PPF when they coat the car.

Thank you much. I thought something didn’t sound right. He said that he could do it later because the ceramic will have hardened or cured by then. Any of this make sense?

Hmm… I’m very new to this, but it sounds like putting sunblock all over your arms and then putting on a long-sleeve UPF shirt.

Ok, time for me to make a decision on ppf and ceramic. I've never done this on any car before, so I'm not sure if it's worth all of this money - but this thread has me convinced enough to try it. Thanks to everyone with all the insight you've offered so far!

So, the question I have is if Suntek ppf and Gtechniq ceramic are considered top quality? I've seen Gtechniq mentioned a handful of times here, but haven't seen as much info or people getting it as some of the other options. Does anybody have Gtechniq ceramic? If so, are you happy with it?

I live in the Los Angeles area, so there are options here, but the close and convenient detailer for me uses Gtechniq and Suntek.

I was quoted $1750 for full front Suntek Ultra - includes front bumper, hood, fenders, side mirrors and B,C,D pillars (the gloss black plastic pieces). This does not include headlights, but he said he doesn't recommend doing the headlights. He said if the headlights get damage they can be restored easily for $50 and look better than new so he doesn't think it's worth it - especially with some manufacturers like Porsche apparently advising against putting film over headlights.

For the ceramic, it's Gtechniq Crystal Serum Ultra - quoted $1,500 - this covers all painted surfaces. They don't cover plastics or glass with anything. He said they could do the faces of the wheels.

Gave me a discount of $125 so landed at $3125 total for both ppf and ceramic. Gtechniq guarantees the coating for 9 years, and I bring it back to them annually to wash and inspect it - which is free.

He showed me his car which has had the same coating for 6 years/90,000 miles and it does look great still. He also showed me some plastic parts on his car where they had been trying out plastic coatings - he refuses to coat plastics because he hasn't found any product that works. He showed me his plastic which is peeling and looks awful and he said he'd never do it again. He did say you can fix plastics with a heat gun when they get faded.

I'd really appreciate it if some of the knowledgable people here that might know something about Gtechniq and Suntek and confirm this is a good choice and worth this huge amount of money. Does the info about the headlights and plastics sound right?

Thanks in advance for your help!
