• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... @StephenCantrelle

Finally got the dealer that I wanted to order through to answer some questions.

6 SX AWDs ahead of me - great finally answered that.
Refuses to answer how many SX AWDs they are allocated per month.

He has my CC info but has not charged it for my deposit.

Should I bail and look to someone else?

Use Failcat(lookup tool) to see how many store has gotten compared to others in the state.. if they are towards the top I would stick with them..

That is the approach I took to see what numbers each of the Massachusetts dealers were receiving. I was told earlier this week that I am 21st on the list at my dealer for my SX-P w/T AWD. They are estimating 20 or so weeks. I told my wife we hope to have it sometime around Halloween or Thanksgiving. We hope.

For Total Tellurides they are towards the top for SX-P's nope.

Jan -4
Feb - 2
March - 1
April - 2
June - 1

So probably 4 months to be assigned 2 months to build and get to store with no delays.. about 6 month wait..
last 3 months cant really go off of

Just put the nail in the coffin - even after I shared the failcat results with him he said end of September eta...

I have contacted the Sales Manager twice both phone and email in the past 5 months of waiting, not even a call back. Enough complaining from me, Kia dealers have the rare upper hand at the moment, they did strike it big with the Telluride, engineers are Kia delivered, not too often a car gets so many awards, some Kia dealer get to act like Toyota dealers ;) in North Carolina. There are great Kia dealers in the country, I do not want to generalize. Speaking strictly about Kia of Cary.

Maybe go above the salesperson for answers. If the order was accepted in KFOS they assign it a tentative eta, period. So something is a miss here.

Is Kdealer now open for entering 2021 requests or are dealers still just accepting requests on paper? Am I correct in thinking that the only requests that have been accepted so far in KFOS are 2020s that were converted to 2021?

I had a request put in Kdealer back in March, but it never was matched to an allocation in KFOS. My dealer said that my old unmatched request was deleted by Kia (presumably because it was for a 2020 and had never been matched to an allocation) and a new one will have to be entered once Kdealer is accepting requests again. So I'm still in the dark as to when that will happen.

Just heard from my salesperson: “Hi so this is latest update we have on the ETA 8/16 confirmed by Kia. Hopefully we’ll get it earlier. Keep you updated”
It is a 2021 SX-P, AWD with Tow, supposedly Glacier White And Grey Interior
Knock-on-Wood!

My 2020 order was cut by factory. Dealer informed me yesterday same spec ‘21 due
on 8-21-20. Good to see that we’re getting
similar info.

Folks, tell me if a Sales guy is telling me the truth, he said that dealer will only know the VIN when the car is loaded on the truck for transit. I see many folks here get their VINs from dealers before loaded for transit.

Dealers here will verify for you, but VINs are accessible to them once the vehicle is built. Following this it will take approximately 2-4wks for delivery to the dealership.

Vin # will be available when scheduled for
Production. Dealer should have it weeks before car arrives. Check “failcat.com”
from a PC or laptop.

I have been to failcat.com quite a few times but not sure how to find which vehicle is mine if I do not know the VIN. It sounds like Kia of Cary is not being transparent with me. One day he says buzz off you car will be here shortly, but when I ask for the VIN he does not know what the VIN is...

Go to Kia.com/ inventory. Use zip code where is located for search. Find a car at that dealer, and look at the window sticker.
At the top of the Sticker, look for the Dealer Code, then search for that code on Failcat.
You’ll see all the vehicles headed there.
Click on the VIN...if it looks like your car, call dealer to confirm.

@Tl1091 Thank you. I see, looks like no SX-P AWD whites are heading for NC061... hmm, I thought Kia of Cary was a volume leader for NC.

You’re Welcome, SM. Keep checking, and best of luck to you.

I'm in Mass, too. Curious which dealer you went with?
