2021Telluride SX vs 2020 Explorer limited

No question its the best value, in a perfect world I would be buying an Audi Q7.

That is definitely on my wife's list also. However, when watching the reviews, i think the Q7 didn't have vents or USB chargers in the 3rd row (I can't remember which feature it's lacking). The 3rd row also looks smaller (compared to the Aviator or Telluride). We go on trips a lot with my in-laws or parents so my teenage kids get the 3rd row. We need that 3rd row to be spacious and usable.

My wife really likes the Aviator and that would be her first choice if we could afford it (we can't). I told her we could always get a base Aviator used for ~50K (maybe). I am still trying to convince her that the T-Ride is the better option from cost/benefit standpoint than any other options.

The new Aviator caught my attention immediately, and given my trade, I could have afforded it AND it would have been a "bucket list item" ( Lincoln is the ONLY modern American car brand I have not owned )......but the Telly was simply as good and better in some aspects AND the initial production of the new Aviator had some serious issues that resulted in a full recall of vehicles already on dealer lots! I would have had to configure the Lincoln at about 87K to get everything the Telly SX P has.....the Aviator would have had only one more thing: the computer controlled adjustable suspension and that was simply not worth the 40K more above the Telly price that I had. In the end.....buy what you want and enjoy!!!

Honestly have looked at Explorer ST just for performance reasons.

I am concerned the Telluride will not live up to my performance wishes. Looking also at the Explorer ST mainly because of the amazing power and performance. Anyone want to shed some light on your feelings about the performance after owning a Telly for awhile?

I can tell you I successfully blew away a Buick LaCrosse the other day while in Sport mode! Hahaha
All joking aside its adequate for my needs and carries its own weight when it needs to. Im growing out of that "mines bigger and faster than yours" mentality. Agreed if you want muscle in a suv, Jeep, Dodge and Ford have you covered. This is not the vehicle for you

Enough performance for me, I am not a speed demon though. Doesn't handle quite as nice as my wife's turbo Q-5, but it has more features, is more comfortable and cheaper.

Well I had a fully loaded 2018 Explorer that I traded on the 2020 SX P.....so I guess it depends upon what your "performance wishes "
are. All I can say is the quality, tech level, luxury feel, interior configuration are way beyond what I had in the Explorer. The Explorer had the the "Interceptor V6"...the same used by police versions......and if I full throttled it, it ripped and roared! The Telly is not going to do that......the Telly will cruise at 80 and still give some passing "oomph" and the cruise will be a more smooth and quiet ride than the Explorer. Finally, my MPG has been wonderful........24/25 most of the time and 28-30 on long trips. I am very happy!

I think the Aviator base engine is 400 horsepower but it gets expensive well equiped

Don't forget that terrible shifting transmission! Things seem to never know if they're cruising up a hill or down the boulevard
