• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... I'm inclined to say that in 10 years from now (yes, i'll keep mine that long) we'll be glad they didn't get digital gauges. They're going to improve so much in the next decade that in 10 years they'd look extremely dated. Analog will be retro but still classy. I wanted digital gauges, but then I watched a video on a Bugatti where they aren't yet making the gauges digital for that reason, it dates the car. Maybe small digital readouts here and there, but not the whole screen. There are a few niche vehicles from the 90s, 00s that had digital screens and the tech looks ancient now.
My first car (1991 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme) had a digital dash, so I've always been a little flummoxed by the strong desire for one. I'm happy to stick with the analog.

In my own unprofessional opinion, curving the emblem, or making it a bit smaller and placing it above the curve on the rear hatch would have been a much more attractive option. Then they could have left the "TELLURIDE" in the same size and placement as before. Done and done.

That is pretty interesting (and weird?) like you pointed out, that they decided to reshape the sheet metal itself to accommodate the emblem instead of potentially changing the size and shape of the "KN" emblem. Maybe they had to reshape the metal anyway as I think the previous hatch was shaped to accept the oval logo. But then they decided to change the size of the *TELLURIDE* badging? Super weird that they would do that instead of resizing / reshaping the "KN" logo. Totally guessing here, but I bet the rear emblem is the same part as the front emblem, and it might even be shared or will be shared with other vehicles. That would probably save some money and accounting on the supply chain, but it's a car that has probably 40,000 parts, what's one more part when it affects the exterior appearance of the vehicle?

Maybe their design team has a lead on what the styling trends are or will be, and I'm just getting old and unstylish. 🤷‍♂️ I'm waiting on a '22, and when it arrives I'll leave it as is for a bit and try to love it for its quirks before making any changes.

Actually I think if they left the rear hatch design as is like 20/21 models and simply slapped the new emblem on, it would look even worse than what they've come up with for 2022s. They had no choice but to change the stamping design and given the constraint of a flat emblem, I think it looks okay. The engineers did the best they could to blend the design. In all honesty, we are being super critical of a freaken emblem 😂

Seriously, they should have checked with us prior to the design change. I would not have approved the X-Large “KN” badge. LOL. I think reintroducing some version of a stylized “K” would be much cooler.

The new logo in the grill - cool. The new logo on the tailgate - cheesy. Change my mind. PS - Why a silver logo on the Nightfall edition? That also looks cheesy. (I borrowed images found on facepoop)

Im in line with Kia of Muncie for a dark moss SX. I really dislike the implementation of the new logo and am not crazy about the default black grill either. I much preferred the 2021 look and am now questioning my color choice... I was 100% in on the dark moss prior.

Just pull the rear badge off...problem solved. I hope a silly badge doesn't prevent you from getting the color you want.

Video on YouTube with 22, just search for channel called :"Did I fix that".

The KN works for the White NF because if you get NF on White at least you're going for contrast. It's the NF on Dark colors that the KN will clash on.

I was hoping it would be more muted on the Wolf Gray but, from the pictures I've seen, it isn't. Originally, I was thinking I would black it out but it is so big I may just end up removing it. Hopefully, it is just stuck on with adhesive.

Yeah it seems a bit too shiny for the more matte look of the wolf gray

@gman1868 - Do you have any additional photos of the 2022 dark moss that you could post? Thanks.

Anyway you can link or send a picture of the wolf grey with the new badge? I haven’t seen it yet. Interested to see, but I think wrapping in gloss black will look legit. Same black as the roof rails, window tint, side skirts, bumper, ect..otherwise just completely deleting will look good too. Anything other then the worn silver or whatever lol

Thank you kindly!

Most manufacturers do the same with the emblems. If you look at a blacked-out versions of different makes and models they usually keep the company logo without modifications. And yes, there are probably many exceptions.

This is Kia’s new logo. They want people to see it so they’re not going to make it black. Is it a bad idea on a NF edition? Maybe. Probably. Maybe they will change their mind in the future, but for now they want people to notice the new logo.

Hopefully someone will start selling a smaller black chromed or gloss black logo to swap the back.
Hope some entrepreneur with this capability sees this!
Actually the new emblem has grown on me since the initial shock. And I’m saying this with a Glacial White Pearl being birthed right now at the factory. When I took the picture of the’22 and painted it black, a friend of mine pointed out that it looked like an oriental symbol instead of a logo and when I looked again she was right. Then I looked back at the old NF badges and they look too plain right now. Weird but I’m going to see what it’s like with the brushed metal. If it was painted white then I’d change it but I want to try the brushed metal before Plasti Dip.

It’s just a matter of time. I know it’s only little things, but at the same time it’s the details that matter. When paying extra for the nightfall package, one doesn’t expect to receive a badge or tailpipe in shiny chrome.
