• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... I'm a little disappointed and miffed actually that my newly picked up 2022 SX Prestige's (nightfall) ambient lighting is only on dash and doors! My 2021 EX had better lighting on cupholders and floor. Did I get duped or is this standard for all SX Prestige? One would think that being top of the line, KIA would make this feature available on their top trim model. Thoughts anyone? Many thanks!

Doors and dash are standard (ambient lighting). Footwell and cup holders are an add on accessory on every trim level (interior lighting kit).

Yep, it appears you didn’t quite go top of the line Telly. You went 99% of the way though. Can add it on after the fact at your nearest Kia dealership.

Thanks. Does appear so...

Welcome aboard! And thank you for signing up. I'm moving this discussion into our Telluride Lighting forum...

Have other cars with "ambient " lighting. I've come to the conclusion that it's pointless. After the first few days and the novelty has worn off, I can't be bothered fiddling around with the settings.

i don't have the car yet but the 450 dollar lighting kit was an option i had asked for yet it was dropped by either the dealer or Kia. The dealer is saying Kia dropped it. Well thinking about it i actually don't mind that it was dropped. 450 for that is kind of ridicules. You can get the kit from kiastuff.com for 359.99 and install it yourself yet that still high.

I'll have the interior lighting kit on my incoming Telluride. Not because I asked for it... it was one of 4 add-ons that were already configured per the window sticker.

Nah. I think it's a total waste of money. Not doin it myself.

Same scenario I was in.

@tpgh - Do you ever use it or just leave it off? I’ve read it’s not even that bright. I suspect it’ll be fun for the kids for a few weeks then we’ll forget about it. Seems like it might be more of a distraction. I’ll know more in a few weeks (fingers crossed). Does it dim when you shift out of park?

I leave it on, there’s only 16 colors and haven’t played around too much but think only red matches exactly with the ambient in the dash and doors.

It doesn’t dim, in fact it’s somewhat brighter than the ambient lights, even when the ambient lights are at their brightest in park. It’s not a distraction though.

I added Govee Smart Car LED Strip Lights to the footwells, much cheaper, more colors than the Kia interior light kit, and easy. I need to do a little better job of tucking the wires, but for the price, super happy with it.
