If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... So I just arrived home from trying to order a 2022 Telluride Nighfall Edition in Vancouver, BC, CANADA.

To say that I'm disappointed would be an understatement.

The 2022 Tellurides that are sold in CANADA are based on the 2021 model year specs. This means that the top of the line SX Limited Nightfall Edition isn't equipped with nappa leather. Only black standard leather.

The wolf grey paint color and the dune brown nappa leather are also not available for CANADA.

The SX Limited is available with either black or light grey nappa leather depending on which exterior color you choose.

So the top of the line model doesn't come equipped with nappa leather.

Thanks but no thanks! I'll wait for next year!

I don’t understand Nightfall to be top of the line, but rather an appearance package. I’m in the US. Perhaps it is positioned differently in Canada. I hope you find something you can enjoy!

Nightfall is most certainly not top of the line in the US (you can get it on the EX, after all).

In Canada, however, Nightsky is only available on the top end SX Limited, but you give up the nappa leather and the fancy headliner from that model. That’s pretty much it. You still get the heated and ventilated front (and rear) seats and all the other SX-L features.

The models are positioned as well as named differently in CANADA. They are as follows...

EX
SX
SX Nightsky Edition
SX Limited
SX Limited Nightsky Edition

It is called Nightsky in CANADA and it is the top of the line model. I'm thinking of getting my daughter to purchase one in the US for me as she is a US citizen. I'll then purchase it from her. I don't mind paying for exactly what I want and I do want a 2022 Telluride SX Prestige Nightfall with dune brown nappa. 👍

Good luck! I have the Dune Brown and enjoy the color/texture a lot. :)

My apologies as I should have initially specified SX Limited Nightsky. Thank you for clarifying that it is still equipped with the ventilated seats. 👍

Wolf Grey is available on the Nightsky version and I have see it in person several times. Looks awesome.

That is what I figured. The sales manager let me look at the screen and it listed wolf grey as a color but a red x was beside it stating it was unavailable. 🤔

Wolf grey not available in Canada as far as I know. I would have seriously considered it but I ordered GG sxp nightsky.

Well, it sucks but it is what it is. Our market is way, way smaller than the US market and when rolling out the production line this is what we get.

I'm in Vancouver as well. I ordered a week or so ago and have no idea when it's coming in lol.

Wolf grey is available on Nightsky’s. A dealer in Edmonton has 2 on the lot.

If you go this route, you may need to go to extreme lengths for warranty repairs (ie. driving it back and forth to the US). I think somebody tried to get a warranty repair for a Canadian spec in the US and realized they would have to drive to Canada for coverage.

If you legally buy from your daughter, you will be the second owner and forfeit the original owner 10-year (100k mile) coverage and it drops to 5-year (60k mile). In Canada the 5-year (100km) warranty remainder is fully transferable.

Lastly, you get 5 year trial of UVO Intelligence with a Canadian spec, but only 1 year trial of UVO link for US spec. There may also be limitations and region restrictions when you are trying to use Kia Access (US app). For example, Alexa/Google Assistant for remote start.

I wonder if each dealer differs with available options. Nothing is making sense with what I was shown in the computer at this particular dealership.

Great points as most manufacturers are now following Honda. They were one of the first to stop cross border purchases as they would not honor the warranty or repairs. Having said that, I'm only fifteen minutes from the WA border and I normally do all of my shopping in the US. Warranty purposes would be no problem as far as country is concerned. Losing the 10 year warranty makes it definitely not worth it!

I'm now leaning towards a 2022 SX Limited and performing my own nightfall trim and custom black wheels. I can't justify the $1K CAD higher price for black trim and wheels but with no nappa leather or premium headliner. IMHO it is paying more for less. Anyone have any thoughts?

that's so strange.

wolf gray is not an available option on the website.

yet some edmonton dealer has 2? On the lot?

only a few reasons for this:

- the website and ordering process and understanding of current information is so outdated for Canada that it's pathetic. Imagine car dealers and staff having customers coming in and saying they want WG and losing sales over it. That's really bad. Can't imagine that's the case.
- that Edmonton dealer is far ahead of the curve and has trailblazed orders before most CAD dealers. Even before the website is updated.
- that Edmonton dealer somehow has US models converted for the CAD market? Unlikely, maybe.
- that Edmonton dealer managed to get WG color from factory by mistake.

I'm pretty certain that it is due to the first reason you listed. "The website and ordering process and understanding of current information is so outdated for Canada that it's pathetic".

They are basically selling a 2022 model based on the 2021 specs, colors, etc. It states that for 2022 the nappa leather was available on the sx limited nightsky edition. In 2021 the only interior available on the nightsky edition was standard black leather. It makes absolutely no sense!

I don't want to disuade anyone from ordering a Telluride. I'm just pointing out the facts as people should be aware.

It makes complete sense as Kia Canada hasn't even updated their website showing that the 2022 Telluride is available. Two dealerships have told me that those who placed an order for a 2021 and are still waiting are now receiving a 2022 model. If they update the new option changes on their website that means the 2022 sx limited nightsky edition should be fully equipped with nappa as well as the premium headliner. How would they explain that to the customers that receive their sx limited nightsky and they're not equipped with nappa leather or the premium headliner. It would be false advertising.

I honestly believe Kia Canada will update the 2022 specs on their website once all of the people that ordered 2021 models and have yet to receive them are fullfilled.

It just seems really silly because it's like ordering from an old menu from a restaurant...
I completely agree! I read some reviews on the 2022 Canadian spec Tellurides color changes and options. Canada was supposed to have wolf grey as well as the dune brown nappa leather equivalent added for 2022 but the dune brown would be named different.

I'm hoping Kia Canada updates their website and adds the 2022 models within the next few months. 👍
