• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... I know there are threads about 2022 and below but curious about 2023.

The cars don’t arrive from the factory with the front plate mounts and that seems to be up the dealer to mount.

I’m in a state that requires front mounts. Is there a reason (sensors, etc) we can’t mount it lower than the official mount so it is more out of the way? And is so, what sensors?

I’m thinking about placement instead in the lower black part of the bumper instead of covering the body color of the bumper. Maybe on the S it would work because the S has no front proximity sensors.

Trying to figure out whether to request dealer install it or whether to try another location on my own.

Here’s a 2023 with a front plate. 1671741278010.webp

You cannot mount it any lower or it will block the rectangular front radar plate in the lower middle of the bumper.

Helpful, is that radar for all trims or just for higher end with a certain feature? Because I thought the radar was visible in that shot by the rear view mirror mount.

The plate surround matching the grey trim looks pretty good though.

Yellow box = front radar, all trims (forward collision, adaptive cruise)
Green circle = front camera, all trims (forward collision/lane detection)
Blue circles = front ultrasonic parking sensors, SX and up
Red circle = front camera for 360° camera system, SX and up

Amazing. Thanks for the detailed reply.

Wow, how can you change the 2023 Tellurides front end and make it even look worse. Hang a license plate on it. Yikes, that doesn't work in so many ways.

Seems ok to me.

This idea is interesting: Four-screw back license plate mount?

But I think I’d rather have it in the official position rather than off center, which has its own non ideal appearance, and wouldn’t look as clean on the 2023s anyway since it would overlay into the silver area.

Replies like this make these forums incredibly worthwhile.
