DRLs in white allow you to get noticed making the turn signal separate from the DRLs and a different color make it more noticeable that you are turning. As the driver your eyes adjust differently to the color, so white headlights on with amber DRLs they do not complement each other because your eyes can’t adjust as quickly in the foreground.

So you're saying the Amber is hard to see at night when signaling? Because during the day, only the ambers are lit.

I was going to say the same thing. The color on the stage is beautiful. I am getting the 2022 in Gravity Gray bc it looks more of a blue sparkle in the sun. I wonder if this one is more a blue gloss like the Wolf Gray without the glitter effect.

Is the Wi-Fi hotspot a monthly paid subscription?

I'm guessing it will be complimentary for a period of time and then there will be a cost involved after that. If it was integrated into the cost of Kia Connect, that would make the kia connect subscription a better value. That's my guess though. nothing concrete to go off of.

I don't see that anywhere so I am still hoping. They did say wireless charging, did the 22 have wireless charging?

Would seem really weird to have hotspot and not wireless Carplay/AA.

Don't care for the minor exterior changes. I do like the new 12.3 dashboard. Looks like they added new Dark blue color. Can't play around with the 2023 on their website yet so can't really fully grasp the change

Yeah. It is pretty though. Kind of looks the way the Wolf Grey is. Glossy but flat finish.

Where did you see this? I've been trying to find any info on when it might go into production, and given the trend for June cut-overs for MYs, was wondering if they've committed to when this officially becomes available...

From what I've heard, the no-wireless-Carplay issue is contractual, and has nothing to do with the infotainment system's inability to handle it. So, I'm guessing it will never be added via a model year update; rather, it will come via update to the system. I doubt very much that they installed the capability in their older systems but not in their newer systems. It's just not turned on yet.

Yes, the MY22 did have wireless charging but effectively useless for larger phones as you had to get it just right in there (if you even could at all) for it to charge and when you eventually got it in there to charge, it was VERY slow as expected with the current wireless charging technology.

What doesn't make sense is that the other KIA models have wireless CarPlay. Unless you're referring to it being contractual for the Telluride only of which I haven't heard but would again make sense, given that the other KIA models already released, already have this feature..

I don't quite understand this, either, but I'm guessing every infotainment "system" has to have a contractual agreement with Apple. Thus, the old ones do, but the new ones do not.

I guess I’m trying to say that there is a difference between getting noticed and standing out. I think DRLs are meant to get noticed during the day, but turn signals are meant to stand out to alert drivers, bicycle riders, motorcycles and pedestrians that the vehicle is turning. Approaching an oncoming car the other driver has to decide: is that the DRL or a turn signal? In my S the amber is clearly the turn signal. Bottomline, the NHTSA safety pick plus rating, while some might see it as flawed, is heavily influenced by headlight testing results. Kia could not do a redesign without addressing a change to the headlights to all trims and make it standard if they want any chance at the Plus rating. I think amber lights like on the Ford Raptor look cool, but lights are first a safety component.
