• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Hey all,

So I bought my wife her 1st brand new car!

Immediately after we noticed the drivers side door does not shut properly unless we close it firmly.

Took it to service and have gotten three separate explanations.
First, they thought it was just a side latch issue. That wasn’t it.
Upon further review they firmly believed it was an issue with the door strip that was bumping up against the bottom of the door. They had to order new part and “send it to the shop” to have it properly installed.

When I went to pick up the car today, the service tech said they need to keep it another day because the needs to be bent slightly to ensure it closes and seals properly. He strongly believes the issue can be fixed.

I’m very disturbed as this is a new car. Anyone else have this issue?

Yes it happened to me too when I purchased my 22 telluride its normal you have to close it firmly cause of the pressure in the cabin if you lower the windows you will see what i mean….dont get me wrong i went to the kia dealership to get it checked and we did to several 22 and 23 tellurides and all did the same thing to make sure… hope this helps you out

Yet unfortunate for you, it should be something that occurs infrequently with new builds on any brand. Service dept can print up your entire warranty on the vehicle and you'll see there's a limited time frame for adjustments before they start charging you out of warranty. Sometimes body panels, doors, latches etc. need to be adjusted after the factory. GL
