Some '23s have vertical grain wood on the dashboard and some have horizontal grain wood. Does anyone know which is which? Does it depend on either trim or color?

Thanks. I don't thinks so, though. Both of these pictures have the low-end instrument cluster, but the wood grain on one is horizontal and the other is vertical. Maybe color?

Well, after looking at more images I’ve come across, it looks like its an interior color thing and not a trim thing.

Mahogany has the vertical straking. As does the deep navy/misty gray, and so does black (gray, too – so that’s all regular trim interiors). All X-Line and X-Pro interiors seem to have horizontal grain.

Note that your second picture is of an S; that isn‘t even wood-look trim. That’s silver plastic.

Thank you very much! Subtle differences! This picture looks like a low end cluster with horizontal grain (looks like an EX with gray, right? SX has high end instrument cluster and LX & S don't have wood grain).

This one is an EX X-Line. It must be black (it’s definitely not terracotta, and the passenger seat isn’t light enough to be sage green).

I have a '21 S with the Grey seating and I love the lightness it brings to the entire interior of the car, especially the headliner. I do notfeel enclosed in a box. While I love the Mahogony option for seat color I think this Navy/Grey combo is just fantastic because it brings the light headliner and some great navy accent.

I know. Me too. Everyone knows such trim is fake, unless it’s on a Rolls Royce, but why have it scream fake as no carpenter would ever run the grain that way.
