• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... I have a 2 month old 2024 SX X-Line. When we originally purchased the interior lights wouldn't come on but were told it was probably just a loose connection (mood lighting works) and to bring it back. The buttons on the overhead panel seem to have no impact on whether they work or not. The lights did actually work on 2 random occasions but then didn't work the next time we started the car. It took the dealer a full day to diagnose it and said we would have the part in like 4 days. One month later they are now saying the part to repair it is back ordered and could take up to a year! The repair order shows the part ordered was a "Junction Block."

Has anyone had this happen? I feel like it should just be something random and easily fixed. It is mostly just an annoyance and pain whenever we are trying to get the kids in the car at night.

I'm trying to decide on how big of a deal I want to make it with the dealer, but for a new car bought at full price it's ridiculous we would have to wait so long. For any dealers on here would it be out of bounds to demand they pull the part from a new car and fix mine while they wait on the part?

Update: Dealer replaced a junction box after waiting over a month for the part to come in…..it didn’t fix the issue. Now the vehicle has been sitting in the shop for 30 days and the case was escalated to Kia Consumer Affairs for resolution. Apparently the dealer thinks it’s a wiring issue in the ceiling but I have stopped getting status updates from them. So I currently have no idea what’s going on with it.

Anyone else have experience dealing with Kia Corporate for getting issues resolved? My best guess is the dealer stopped working on it after the case was escalated.
