• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Just confirming what I think the Android Auto website illustrates - is the 2024 Telly not Android Auto compatible - i.e. limitations on phone projection?

I can pair my phone, but when USB connected (and perhaps with bluetooth as well) all I manage to see is the song playing from my particular app, and as further confirmation, when I set up Google maps, the audible instructions are heard, but the Google map doesn't project. I'm in MA btw, where I understand there are also kia connect limitations. TIA!

I use android auto and see Google Maps. I have had no trouble with projection.

You do not need Bluetooth. Connect with the standard USB.

Interesting, particularly as I see you're also a 2024. Just to confirm, it's google maps and not the Kia's maps that I do see?

Your car is definitely compatible with Android Auto.

You’ll have to plug your phone in to the main data port (the only USB-A port on your 2024). Or you could get an aftermarket wireless adapter like AA Wireless or Motorola MA1, but let’s start with the basics.

Then make sure you’ve pulled up Android Auto on your infotainment display. There are numerous ways to do that. You can choose AA from the car’s app list, you can push the media button, or you can program your star button to phone projection. Once you pull ip AA, you’re in. It’s all the Google interface. You can show Google Maps, Waze, music and audio apps from your phone, etc.

Once I choose to project android auto, I see all the things on my phone. Yes, Google maps.

I can also use the navigation system maps if I prefer.

You have to open android auto to see the projection of your phone to the screen.

You mentioned using the USB-A port, while I'm actually using the USB-C port figuring that any USB port would do - perhaps that's my issue and I'll have to try that. 🤔

Thank you, sounds like it's pilot error on my end. I'll keep trying after I'm done wading thru my 200 page Infotainment 'Quick Reference Guide'. 🤣

That is the problem. You must use the USB A port for Android Auto. Once you connect though there you will be able to start and use Android Auto.

I've done so those things and nothing happens I've purchased the exact USB cable recommended by Kia and Android Auto

Any idea if this is a software or hardware limitation of the USB-C port? My other car can connect with Apple Car Play and Android Auto through both USB ports. This is ridiculous I will have to switch cables between my wife and I now when I drive her car. Good to know it wasnt the cables or my phone though I was losing my mind. I dont have any USB-C to A cables anymore all C-C whatever.

The C ports are charging only. They are noted as such in the little symbol on the port. And the manual says so.

The only data transfer port (needed for Android Auto) is the USB A port. Your phone may trickle charge in that port as well.

I just keep a short A to C cord in my car all the time. No biggie.

I hear it being said just use a USB A cable. Ok, I will but, sadly, AA isn't working on Bluetooth connection like so many other cars that cost far less. I love my 2024 Telluride but with all the tech built in. It sad at best that they missed this ability

No, Android Auto is not wireless in the Telluride. You must connect via the USB A port.

You can also use a wireless adapter.

The issue has been lamented endlessly on this forum and others. Kia did not build wireless Android Auto or CarPlay into the Telluride.

I wonder if they'll at least be able to sync the wired AA/CarPlay data to the HUD and/or the gauge cluster at some point via an update.
