If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... We just bought a 2024 EX X-Line and was assured the wiring for a tow hitch was found in the left rear wheelhouse (not sure the exact description). After purchasing, I've been reading on here about all the problems installing tow hitches on the 2023's and the lack of a brake harness.

When I called UHaul for a quote on a tow hitch with wiring, they said they don't have compatibility info on the 2024's. Were there any changes from 2023's to 2024's EX X-lines that should affect the tow hitch? In other words, can UHaul use a system that is compatible with the 2023's on our 2024?

There were no changes that I know of other than some exterior stuff like bumper color, DRLs to amber, etc. Also, the self-leveling Packages will no longer be available to purchase, Self-leveling shocks are still being provided for X-Line and X-Pro.

I would bet my bottom dollar that UHAUL can use the same system as on a '23.

Please provide an update when you figure it out- I’m in the same boat with my 2024.

The problem is not unique to 2024. The problem began with the 2023s and has yet to be resolved. I recently visited my KIA dealership and the general manager and the service department were 100% clueless on the issue. Only the parts department knew there was an issue. Still waiting for a fix KIA!!

I just bought 2024 Ex AWD. Dealer said they changed the hole locations and tow harness (hope I said that right) is not available yet. I am looking to add this to my Telluride as soon as available for bike rack and flatbed trailer.
Dealer did suggest going to U-haul though so not sure what to believe.

Make sure that the dealer guarantees that your warranty will not be voided.

The warranty is from the manufacturer. A dealer can only guarantee if they will do the work or not to file the claim. Uhaul wiring can also come with a 2-year warranty. A tow harness does not void an entire warranty. At worst you would be responsible for some wiring or fuses if something was improperly installed that led to another issue covered under warranty. But Kia would have to prove it to you before denying your claim.

Let’s say a novice installer mistakenly cut the wrong wire and your backup lights stopped working. Kia would have to show you (via a dealer) that the wire was cut and you would have to pay for the repair. If your backup lights just stopped working with no explanation then they would still have to investigate and determine that the aftermarket harness was the culprit before denying your warranty claim. Even then other parts of the vehicle not related are still covered under warranty. UHaul has been doing aftermarket tow harness and hitch installs for decades. If there was a widespread problem with them entirely voiding a manufacturer’s warranty I would think we have heard about it by now.

That said, if you need just a 4way flat for a small trailer with no brakes the. Go to Uhaul. If you need a brake controller but can wait, buy the part and wait for it to come. At least they acknowledged there is a new part which is progress.

I had an aftermarket tow harness fail me and it kept popping fuses. I took it to a Jeep dealership who ran a diagnostic with it connected, then ran one with it disconnected. The dealer replaced the fuse for me at no cost, left it disconnected and told me their findings suggesting I get a new harness because the vehicle electrical was not having any issues.

Thanks. Mainly going to use for a couple of bikes so no need for brake controller. Appreciate the info !!

Picked up my 2024 SX Prestige X-Line on Tuesday. My first trip was to the Hitchman in Taneytown, MD. While I was there, Steve called Curt (hitch manufacturer) to enquire about a hitch for my '24. The hitch for the '23 will fit the '24. HOWEVER, if you have LED tail lights, they told him the wiring harness would not be available til October-ish. There is a harness available through e-trailer.com for non LED.

The 2023 Canadian palisade wiring harness fits and works 100%. Many folks been using it. (part #S8F67-AC800). The new US wiring harness has just come out and available for purchase (part #S8F67-AC700). The hitch w bumper cover will be available stating in October (part #S8F61-AU200). However the 2022 hitches (S9F61-AU002) fit just fine but you will need to do a small trim to the bumper cover which is only noticeable from down low.

How do you know all this? And is the harness 7-pin or 4-pin?

I just installed a Curt hitch and wiring harness on my 2024 Telluride. I use Rock Auto a lot for the price and that's where I ordered from. The hitch and wiring were both Curt brand, went in no problem and works just fine.
