• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... So in Feb I started planning the end of my Range Rover Sport lease, which was up in May. I had been leasing RR for 10 years, and this had been my dream car. With 500+ hp V8, I loved it. Having raced cars and for Ducati years back it was the “sports car “ I wanted when after having moved to Denver I could drive anymore.

My friends all drive Audi and BMW. There was certainly pressure to drive a badge, after having a $115k rover, they all thought I was nuts. My biggest complaint with Audi and BMW is style. I thought they looked like jacked up minivans. I wanted a defender, bronco, blazer, but with safety.

Safety. I was honest with myself. After driving in Denver for 10 years I can’t tell you how many times I almost totaled a six figure suv, how many times during my 45min 10mile commute . Whatever replaced my RRS, I needed the safety features.

My biggest bitch was that looking down list, to get the tech and safety features required optioning a 40k car to 65k , or even higher for some brands.

I loved the styling on the telluride, loved the equipment availability on lower trims. Fit and finish on the SXP was as good. Most materials were great choices, 4x4 credentials were important for ski days as shitty freeways.

I placed my order in Feb and after 6 months I am happy to report that my SXP is everything I wanted at half the cost of similar experiences.

I’m proud to drive a functional, smart, stylish, choice. And those who thought I was crazy, are more than impressed. Most importantly, I love it. Half the cost of my previous RRS. The user interface and technology is smooth, and intuitive. The interior is fantastic , with only a few panels not being “real” but the important touch parts all are. The sound is great. Panel fit and finish is more consistent or equal to premium brands.

Overall, after a week... I couldn’t be happier. Have zero regrets, and that extra $600 a month in lease payments might give me an excuse to get back into the race track.

Thanks to everyone here, your honest reviews, and passion convinced me to take a risk on a newcomer. Now zero regrets!

Nice story thanks for sharing. Hopefully this KIA holds its value far better than the RR brand for you as well although if you're leasing not sure thats a factor. Enjoy it!

Thanks for the story! I have leased BMWs, Lexus in the past hoping to impress friends and clients (I am in sales). At age 51 knowing I have accomplished my financial goals I could care less how people think of me. Most importantly when I am looking for my dream car, value/more car for the money is key. As a result after returning my leased 2017 Sorento SXL I went ahead and purchased my Telluride SXP AWD. There is a lot of pride driving this car on the road since it is still catching so much attention even after the car has been in the market approaching two years.
