A question about Factory Order Spec Change(within 2~3 days)

Hi all,

I have a question about adding a AWD Spec after ordering my new Telluride.....:(

1) I would like to get AWD option and received a link from KIA site(Oct 10, including that option in homepage).
2) I sent it to the dealer and found that that link did not include AWD option...(I don't know the reason. It changed to FWD as always)
3) I requested if it is possible to modify(or cancel) the current order and I heard that it is not possible to do so.

Is there any way to solve this problem? It is the first time to buy a new car in USA.....and I will be happy if we have another solutions...

My dealer told me any order changes would then put me back to the end of the line. Now if you ordered recently, you are pretty close to the end of the line anyway. And getting a car sooner that is not what you want doesn't sound that great to me.

1) The delivery is not a critical issue, because there are some margins(4~8 months) for this issue.
2) Any changes shall be done with the dealer I contacted? He did not want to change the order......

I hope you went with a dealer that does a refundable deposit or no deposit until Kia begins building. Your dealer should definitely change it for you. The fact that they won't is concerning and would make me think about switching dealers.

I had a similar situation, decided to change the exterior color (after seeing it in person) 2 weeks after placing the order. The dealer I went with canceled the original order and started the process all over again with a new order. This set the deliver ETA back by a month but I was happy I could make the change. Maybe asking for a manager at your dealership might help?
