• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Help! We bought our brand new Telluride this morning and tonight while watching TV we heard a car alarm going off.. after realizing it was ours I pressed the unlock button (It’s an incredibly safe neighborhood) and then less than 5 minutes later it went off again.. all the windows were up, the keys were on the counter and we are extremely confused. It’s been quite a while and I can’t find anything online or in the manual to help and it’s still happening.. Any advice?

I’d open and close all doors, the hatch and hood to insure everything is latched properly. Also turn off the child detection function. I think it’s somewhere in the settings on the screen next to the speedometer

I unfortunately triple checked all the doors and locked it multiple times between alarms- would the instructions to turn off the child detection function be in the manual? I’ve been frantically searching the internet and the manual but I can’t seem to find out how to disable the feature. It’s a wonderful addition but I don’t even have anything in the car let alone the back seat :(

Update- when it went off for the 7th time my husband put the back seats down and it hasn’t gone off in about 10 min (it was about a 5-7 min cycle) I definitely want to still find out how to disable the feature for future 3rd row use

I bet it was the rear occupancy alert system. Details are on page 4-22 of the manual:

You can activate or deactivate the ROA from the User Settings mode in the cluster LCD display. The option can be found under the following menu:
User Settings → Convenience → Rear Occupant Alert

We just had the same thing happen. So frustrating! Finally we saw a moth inside the car, and are now assuming that the movement was setting it off. I will try to disable the alert, so this doesn't happen again. Sigh. Great function, but sheesh... so sensitive! :)

If I could be "King" for a day, I would ELIMINATE ALL CAR OEM ALARMS. Who responds to an alarm anymore? They are just a nuisance!
