• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Alex on Autos Kia Telluride Review

Yea, I was looking towards this review as well. I like his comments about the "Germanic" driving feel. I am coming from VW, but I like the Telluride over the Atlas. I also like that he said that it drives "Smaller" than it is, and send power to the rear when needed.
Now just need the hype to come down and the inventory to go up so I can negotiate the best price.

Thanks for posting these up! I'm anxious to check them out later. I do love all his automobile reviews...

You and me both! Unfortunately I think that will be a while. Hell, the Hyundai dealerships around me can’t even keep any of the upper trim 2019 Santa Fe’s in stock! Now it is a great car, but man, who would have thought they’d be in such demand?

I think we are starting to see a paradigm shift in the Auto Industry where even those who can afford it are starting to question the cost vs the quality and features. German engineering IMO is some of the best engineering around. However, if I can buy a vehicle that is just as reliable, looks good and has quality material esthetics and feel then why would I spend and extra $20K to get the same product? Just my opinion and perspective and maybe its just as I get older! The Telluride hits that sweet spot of luxury feel, features and ride quality without having to spend the extra $20K to get it. I think the Germans might need to start thinking about their business model in the coming years but the prestige of the emblem on the vehicle on goes so far with consumers.

German cars have always been known for bad electrical engineering and they had some of the worst GDI carbon buildup on first generation GDI engines. They haven’t been the best in a long time. Right now we’re seeing the Koreans catch to the Japanese in auto engineering. Next wave is probably the Chinese.

Truthfully though there’s not a huge difference in quality anymore other than China is still behind the rest of the auto market. In smartphones they’re much closer to everyone else. It’s becoming very competitive in many markets.

Was also checking out the Fast Lane review from that same Gateway Co group. Gateway is around 5,000ft. Telluride is over 9000 ft. If you read between the lines it was dogging it pretty good. Almost 9 seconds to 60. . For the sea level folks who cares, but I spend a lot of time in the mountains at 7-8000 ft. That could be a deal breaker, maybe a shift to a turbo would be a better option for moving a bigger rig like the Telluride at higher elevations.

I agree completely. I live in Colorado and would much rather have a smaller turbo-charged engine. We've got an Acadia that's supposed to be about the same hp as the Telluride and it's quite doggy. We've also got a turbo-charged Encore w/138HP and it's definitely got more zip than the Acadia (once you get the turbo spun up). I'm still thinking hard about a Mazda CX9.

I live in Texas so elevation is not a factor for me. I honestly loved everything about the CX-9. My only issue was that I felt cramped in the driver seat ( I am average size at 5'9 and 180lbs) mainly due to how the center console comes out at an angle and the door arm rest also comes out at an angle thus making my knees feel like they are being pushed in. I really struggled between the CX-9 and the Telluride but now love my Telluride.
