• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Hi all, I noticed the battery light coming on in our 2021 Telluride recently. Tested battery voltage and it reads fine at 12.4v with engine off (I also put the battery on the tender but made no difference). With the engine on, voltage dips to 12v, which tells me there is not enough electricity coming from the alternator. I tested voltage output at the battery terminals and directly off the alternator, which eliminates something simple like a blown fuses or bad connections (all of which I checked anyway). The car has not yet crossed 50k miles and is still under warranty, so I assume Kia will cover the replacement, but still a <50k mile alternator should not be failing, IMHO.

Anyone else have an issue like this and what was the remedy, if so? Apart from this, the vehicle has been flawless. Thanks!

Telluride alternator factory warranty is 60K miles or 5 years
