Anyone buy an extended warranty on the Telluride?

Yes, it is the Mechanical Failure Service Contract through Fidelity. It is for 10yrs/100,000 miles. Platinum coverage with zero deductible. Purchased from Pitre Kia in Albuquerque. Francesca Tafoya is the finance manager at 505-899-4848. I have it in writing that this is a bumper to bumper coverage with no exclusions except normal wear & tear but in reading the actual contract, I'm not so certain. I am waiting for additional clarification.

Yes. I spoke with a rep with JMA which is the company Kia Corp partnered with some years ago. As I understand it, JMA is a major player in the finance and warranty business for the automotive industry. The warranty we purchased is one the Kia Corp approved, they call it "branded coverage". In any case, the rep explained that the way their contracts are drafted, what is important to the consumer is what is specifically excluded. Everything else is covered. In re-reading the exclusions, the exclusions seem reasonable and what one would expect. There are a couple of items that do seem unusual, such as not covering damages that occur outside the US (not a concern for us) and not covering air bags, which could be very pricey. We'll see what happens if we ever have to make a claim, but it is not worth it to us to spend a bunch of money to get an attorney's opinion.

I am interested as well, got SXP. Let see what price and deductible you are offering with miles/years. The best I found was platinum plan $0 deductible 10years/100000 miles for $1300 something.

Interested...how does warranty work get handled?

I’ve never bought an extended warranty for a vehicle before. Any authorized Kia dealer throughout the U.S. is able to do the work?
