I hate to burst everyone's bubble regarding the electronics warranty but typically with electronics, if something is going to fail, it will fail within the first 30 days or so of life. Extended warranties on things such as the stereo, speakers and even navigation are a complete waste of money. You are buying a Kia Telluride because of the quality. Why then would you turn around and spend an extra $1,200 to extend the warranty on the electronics?
This is simply the warranty companies preying on your fear that something will go wrong with your shiny new car. It is like the salesman who tells you to buy a Sony TV due to their high quality (which is true by the way) and then in the next sentence trying to convince you to spend $500 - 600 on an extended warranty.
Sure, that's a fair opinion. But, for those that do want an extended warranty, Kia of Muncie has provided a fair priced plan for forum members - well below the price of many other dealerships. It's also comprehensive. I know you won't be buying it, but some people want them.
I’ll add that I just had 3 electronics failures at $1400/ea on my 5yr old Lexus all covered under the CPO warranty. If you’re just keeping your Telluride for 3-5 years, first 30 days is probably accurate. But I tend to keep my cars for 6-10 years and have often had electronics failures in those later years. FWIW, I almost never buy extended warranties but on occasion, they make sense to me.
My ‘dealer’ refused to go below $3000. Muncie was fair on their price at less than half. We’ll easily drive this truck through 100k. Made sense to me.
