Anyone Purchased from Jim Butler Kia in Chesterfield, MO?

I just got an update that could be (or not be) interesting for all waiting: The assembly line will change somewhere around September (no specific date yet). They will try to build as many '22 Tellurides as possible all the way up to then. Kia is getting very close to picking up the dealership's Dec '21 orders. When the line changes dealership will call and reorder as ordered by date. Place in line is kept. They told me I have a head start by ordering early.

From what people shared here, current ETAs for November '21 orders are scheduled for August '22, so we're now looking at a 9-month lead time. This brings my 3/2/22 order to an estimated ETA of December '22, which means we'll be getting a '23 for sure. I think the '22 looks better and don't care for the digital dash. However, like with most new designs, we all get used to it over time and the old version starts to look dated at some point. Ultimately, my wife will have to decide if she wants it.

I came back to the forum because I got the same email. Disappointed that I'll be getting the '23, but what can you do. Resale of the '22s is probably going to be higher than what it is now.

The only thing that I'm nervous about is the order submittal for the '23s. They're supposed to be calling us to confirm our '23 orders and I feel like were going to be merging in line with everyone thats coming in to order at the same time they're calling us. Frustrating. We're going to end up waiting 15 months instead of 10.

When did Kia start building 2022 Tellurides? July 2021? June 2021? Earlier?

Sometimes, when a brand-new model is being introduced, or even just a midcycle refresh, the incoming model will displace the previous one earlier than usual. This takes advantage of newness as a selling point, and results in a "stretched" model year for the new version.

Here, it seems the opposite process is occurring. The outgoing 2022 model year is being stretched, and could end up being 16 months long, or more.

Agree. Everybody will know the details of the '23 model around the same time and so orders will also be placed around the same time. Only thing is (if dealerships honor), you get to keep your spot in line with the dealership.

Anyone else get this email? That can’t be right. 870,000 orders??????????

Thats not just Tellurides. Thats every single Kia model. They haven't even filled all of their 2021 orders on the Telluride. Pretty insane. I'd imagine Kia America has lost a considerable amount of money by not opening another manufacturing facility for Tellurides and Carnivals.

That makes more sense but I was confused by the wording of “870,000 telluride orders”

Hm. You're right. I didnt notice it actually said Telluride orders. I really find that hard to believe. The email also says that the Georgia plant expects to produce 100k this year. Are they sold outside of North America? I didn't think they were. And surely all of europe didnt order 8x what the US/Canada ordered. Right?

Apologies if I missed it, but when did you order? Only reason I ask is I have not yet received that email (ordered 5/18). I knew i'd be waiting a while, just more concerned I'm potentially not on the email list. Jack wasn't my guy there though so maybe it's still coming.

Jim Butler is still filling NOVEMBER orders. I ordered late March. Theres no chance I'll be getting a '22. I'd expect orders in some of February getting changed over. My salesman left and I have a new one, but mine isn't Jack and I got the email.

Anyone have any luck with Jim Butler telling them where they are in line? The last 2 months they've averaged ~23 Tellurides per month. I would be curious to see how far back I am vs what they're getting per month.

May I ask who your salesman was? Wondering if mine is the same...

Ordered an SX at the end of March from Jim Butler Kia. Contacted our salesman last month and he was rude and would not give any kind of update, said he would contact us when it was being made and until then he would have no info. Anyone else order in March and have an updated time window and info on if we might be getting a ‘23?

Considering we ordered in November and are supposed to be receiving a 2022 model in August, I can’t imagine you will be getting a 2023. Out first update with any information came in mid-June that we’d been picked up. A week later we were told delivery would be august.

Agree. Reading between the lines of the response to my last inquiry with them, if you ordered in March (like myself), it'll be a 2023. I was bummed at first but am really starting to like the '23. There is worse problems to have

We don’t necessarily mind getting the ‘23, just haven’t had any communication whatsoever from the dealer. We didn’t receive any emails like others seem to have gotten. Fingers crossed it will at least show up by the end of the year!

Finally, I picked up my vehicle today. Saw many Tellurides today at the parking lot.
Mine is on a truck on the way as we speak! Question, did Butler install any badging/decals? I don’t want any so I’m hoping not!

Oh good lord. And you ordered 11/17?
