I successfully landed a 2020 Telluride AWD SX P/T this weekend at Smart Kia of Davenport. Here's my story... In very early January of this year, I went to a local Chicago dealership to place an order for a Telluride using the Costco auto program. While I had a generally good dealership experience, and the dealer was upfront about the wait time being 6 to 8 months, the communication with me in the weeks after I left was really bad. I'm still not entirely certain that my order was placed correctly there. In any event, in February I decided to start exploring other options. Using the VIN tracker tool on the website, I checked every morning for Black/Black AWD SXP/Ts that were being delivered anywhere I would be willing to drive to. When one came up for Smart Kia of Davenport, I gave Jason Murley a call. Like most of the cars I called about, it too was already sold. However, Jason was extremely friendly and transparent about their order list and delivery schedule, and he convinced me to put in an order with them. I thought what's the harm, and went ahead and put in a second order.
A few weeks later, Jason calls me with great news. The customer who put in the order for the car I called about backed out, and the car was mine if I wanted it! Not only that, he honored the Costco pricing I received at my local Chicago dealership. I drove the 2.5 hours to Iowa yesterday to pick it up. The purchase was a breeze and AFTER the paperwork was finalized Jason sat with me in the car to walk me through all the features. Now its sitting in my garage back in the Chicago suburbs. Jason and the entire team at Smart Kia were awesome, and I didn't have to deal with any pushy sales tactics. Really the best dealership experience I've ever had. Thanks Jason!
Also, thank you to everyone on this site! I leveraged the tools and the knowledge on here to drive home my dream car in just over 2 months from the time I originally started shopping. This is a really great community!
