• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Bilstein is Test Fitting on Palisade

@Vittoamp I guess that is entirely possible given its so easy to get counterfeit parts short distance across from China. Thanks for reaching out to Bilstein.

@Vittoamp I reached out to the installer about the Bilstein's reaction. Bilstein to jump to conclusion that they are fakes without any investigation is pretty low.

Translation: Bilstein do not produce model specific struts when they do not expect a large production volume. Palisade struts are thus special orders by Korean dealer importer, therefore, has dealer specific part number but no consumer part number associated with it. Not having a consumer part number do not make them a fake product. It is a valid import order by a reputable dealer in Korea. These special orders also occur frequently by the dealer importers in Japan.

NOTE: So all Bilstein has to do is take one of these custom ordered struts from the Korean importers and test fit them to ensure their safety and reliability. I'm sure that is what Bilstein is doing when they said they are test fitting on Palisade. Notice they said Palisade, not Telluride. No dealers custom ordered Bilstein struts exist for Telluride here in the US, but plenty of them have tried and proven worthy for Palisade in Korea.

Same buddy with shop says they will be national US distributors for Neotech, a Korean brand that does make complete suspension packages for the Palisade (shocks, struts, lifts, lowering, etc). Looking to see if they want to test fit on a Telluride - should work, seeing that the Palisade has same parts... but confirming it will work for the Telluride just opens it up for more targeted marketing.

If that works out, I may just stop waiting on Bilstein to go through whatever red tape they're stuck in.
