• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... This maybe an obvious question to some but I have never had a car that I am interested in completing aftermarket mods to. Can the rear bumper (plastic part, I’m sure there is a technical name) be changed out from gray to black? Ordered an Ebony Black SX. Love everything about the car except the gray plastic bumper above the exhaust. Also, post photos of you have changed itbout. Thanks!

You can always Plasti Dip to a new color or black.

Thank you! I’m such a novice at this, I assume Plasti Dip means to dip the existing plastic to whatever color I want. I will google it and get some direction!

It’s a spray on product. There are lots of YouTube videos. I’m doing my logos when I get a chance.

Awesome! Thank you. I will look into it. Post photos of your finished project too.

Here is my Mazda I plasti dipped in 2014. These pics were taken 2 weeks ago. I haven't touched it up since. There are some parts that came off but for 5 years it is pretty dang durable. Only crappy part is getting it off, but I'll let the dealership deal with that when I trade it in :)

You can also "wrap" the piece with 3M Auto vinyl . just google it and you'll see how easy it is to do as well

I’m blacking out my White EX in June. The only parts they are wrapping is the chrome trim around the windows and the chrome trim under the doors. Everything else is being sent out to be painted. Including the grey bumpers. Paying a pretty penny but I want it done right and I need gloss black not matte.

What is the cost? You’re painting all the black/gray matte trim gloss black?

While matte plastic isn’t the best looking trim for a car it definitely keeps those areas free of nicks and scratches from toad debris.
