If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Hello, I live in the New Orleans/Metairie area of Louisiana and wanted to share my purchasing experience.
While I hate the idea of paying above MSRP for a car, my husband's car died unexpectedly and mine got damaged needing repairs. And, with me starting a contract outside the city and him working in city with no real access to public transportation, we desperately needed a second car before the end of the month. Therefore, we were at the mercy of dealerships and couldn't afford to be super picky about price.

We were trying to decide between a SUV, another sedan, or a truck. We decided to go with the SUV and started narrowing our choices down between a Palisade, Telluride, Rav4, Highlander, CRV, or Pilot. Given the market, we were only able to test drive the Pilot, Telluride and Palisade. All other cars were not available on the lot for test driving (lol).

Given that we both keep our cars for a minimum of 5 years, we wanted to get something we would keep for a while and be comfortable in.

We decided on the Telluride SX with Prestige and Nightfall. We opted not add towing since he would probably buy a truck in a few years anyways.

Had issues with car flippers

I originally called Barker Kia because someone said they were able to get their car MSRP, they stopped doing that. :'(
Lafayette was convinced they had the lowest Market Adjustment in Louisiana for some reason.

We also called a dealership in Colorado that was highly recommended on Facebook, they told us they had an 11-page, 20 person per page wait list on orders.
We ended up going with a dealership local to us that had a market adjustment but received the car 2 weeks early.

Overall, my husband and I love the car. We're a little less than excited about the circumstances regarding why we had to get the car, but hope this list is helpful to other people around us in the Louisiana area. I am not sure if any of these dealerships deliver, as that was not a priority for us.

There may also be other dealerships within Louisiana, but we were trying to keep under a 3-hour driving distance due to circumstances and time constraints regarding having time to pick up the car if it were available.
