• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Anyone else hear a buzzing noise when they open the door of their unlocked car that has been sitting for a while?

It is almost like a buzzing noise that comes from what sounds like the dash between the steering wheel and the firewall. I doubt it is the gauge cluster.

High pressure fuel pump for direct injection?

Seems “normal” as the sound appears under consistent conditions. SXP trim if that matters.

I do not use the easy in/out seat adjustment feature, so it isn’t the seats.

Going to drive me nuts until I figure it out.

Could be the hard drive or other telecom devices booting up when drivers door is open? I’ve sat in the car when I tried to remote start before and you can hear the modem or hard drive buzzing like 1 minute before it actually starts.

Previous car had a hard drive, I didn’t think that to be the case with this one.

Your probably right. Hard drive for animations in dash and/or the Nav system!

You would think they would be using flash memory vs. magnetic platter hard drives...

I’ll listen closely next door opening, but I agree, this is probably it.

On other cars it’s usually related to the fuel pump and necessary electrical delays coming on to prime the fuel lines in anticipation of starting the vehicle. I believe you will notice it won’t do it if you recently turned the car off as the fuel lines are still pressurized.
