• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Has anyone hit 10k miles yet and had the dealer suggest a cabin air filter replacement?

It’s a very simple DIY if you can buy the part. Takes about 1 min. Two clips in the glove box and one hinge pin folds down the glove box door to reveal the compartment door and it just slides out for replacement.

The only problem is that I have not been able to find a suitable replacement by part number so I’m going to hunt around by dimensions.

97133-C0000 appears to be the part #. I measured my OEM to be:
22.5cm Width (225mm or 8.86in.)
3cm Height (30mm or 1.18in.)
25.1cm Length (251mm or 9.88in.)

The closest one I found was a 97133-G8000 (fits Sonata or Optima) but it is slightly bigger than the OEM Telluride one in L and W but shorter in H.

WIX 24517 appears to be pretty close and may fit a 2006-2009 Optima / 2006-2008 Hyundai Sonata / 2007-2009 Hyundai Santa Fe.

Size also appears to be comparable to Hyundai OEM cabin air filter part # 971333K000

I'm not even close to needing a cabin air change yet but thank god it's so easy to replace! In my wife's fusion I had to damn near take apart the passenger dash to get to the filter...thanks for the pictures!

www.rockauto.com just updated aftermarket parts for the Telluride. The WIX WP10367 is a replacement for the OEM 97133J5000. I can confirm the dimensions on the WIX one match the 97133C0000 that came from the factory.

Anyway I hope this info helps someone from not being taken advantage of by a dealer trying to charged $50 for a $17 part that takes 2 minutes and no experience to change.

how did you remove the hinge pin just needle nose pliers to squeeze together the butterfly clips at the end of it?

I was able to remove it with my fingers by just squeezing and popping it out. I did get a little grease on my fingers but no tools required.

Hey - I know this thread is elderly, but heck, so am I 👴 ;) and it was the only thread I found with this title.... (searched "Everywhere" for "Cabin Air Filter)

If anyone is interested in replacing the disposable filter with a K&N washable/reusable...

K&N filter # VF2061 - described as designed for Select 2009-2019 HYUNDAI/GENESIS/KIA (Genesis, Equus, G90, G80, G70, Stinger). Doesn't specifically list Telluride and a call to K&N said it wasn't tested yet in the Telluride... but, the other vehicle models listed all use the same disposable filter as the T-ride.

So I bought one and it fits perfectly. The correct instructions for dropping the glove box; with pictures of behind the glove box that look exactly like the T-ride cabin air filter box and blower.

It's about 2.5 times the cost of disposable, but - it's a one time purchase and keeps the paper filters out of the landfill.

FWIW

FRAM Fresh Breeze Cabin Air Filter with Arm & Hammer Baking Soda, CF11819 for GM/Hyundai/Kia Vehicles

The particular Fram # listed (CF11819) will NOT fit the T-ride... it's equivalent to K&N VF2016... not correct thickness... (also still disposable)

K&N for T-ride is VF2061 (last 2 digits reversed)
